Can't wait, can't wait! :D I was told, by a friend that meet Mr. Menkan, that he was working on a song for scuttle. I am pretty sure this was for a live action show, but it could be for a new scene. I guess we will know more as time goes by.

I guess one thing is for certain, we will get a new Disney Channel Circle of Stars song out of it :) You know it will be Part of Your World or Under the Sea.

If you talking about Alan Menkan, no he's still alive. Howard Ashman is the one that died.

If you talking about Buddy Hackett(the voice of Scuttle) then yes he did die, but 2 years after the 2nd one was made.

:)

Whoops. I thought Menkan passed away, lol. It was Ashman who I was thinking about. Sorry.

Excuse me? What exactly is your problem? Disney's dvd almost always include both versions; the new one and the original. You can choose the original and ignore Scuttle's song.If you ask me, I'll tell you that a good relationship needs refreshing so noone gets bored. Of course that refreshing is accepted only when it's done perfectly and fits to the original. But that is just my opinion.

The Lion King did not. It included the new IMAX version and then the IMAX version with a needless new musical number too.

Don't have a problem really. Just wondering why someone would enjoy having an original be changed around a bit. It's like, if someone went and repainted Mona Lisa so her smile included teeth. Or if some sculpture decided to make some arms for Venus De Milo.

I think it will be used for the live-action stage show. Buddy Hackett died two years ago (if Scuttle was the one singing the song), and a song about him/featuring him would just feel superfluous in the movie - wouldn't add much to it. Now, if it was a song about Sebastian, Flounder, Ursula, Triton, or any of the other supporting characters, it'd make more sense.

But I'd prefer Disney not animate a new sequence for The Little Mermaid. Just keep it the way it is and have it look great, like they did with Aladdin. (A rejected song sung by a up-and-coming performer in a music video would be much more preferable on the DVD, like with the "Proud of Your Boy" video.)

Excellent examples. If you noticed so, I said something fit to the original. Now, if you ask me if I would change sthing to Mona Lisa, I'll tell you, that I'd like her to have a brighter dress, or a more lightful background...(I've been to Louvre a week ago, and I don't see why all the people are THAT fascinated with that painting. Ok the smile is unique. But it's only a small-very small-painting, and of course not the best out of Leonardo Da Vinci's collection. There are much more brilliant paintings in there.I guess the commercial does wonders.) About Aphrodite of Milos, I'd love to see how she'd be with arms, because she used to have arms many eons ago, you know; it's how she SHOULD be.

I like it better when the songs are included. Remember you always have a choice between the DVD Special Edition Film and the "Original".
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!
