Disney Executives: Okay, we've all decided that we're not making enough money. Let's just tell a few tiny lies to our customers. It can't hurt, right?

I don't really think I could add anything that hasn't already been said (except for the sarcastic and pointless quote above that I thought would be funny when I wrote it but realized that instead it's just plain sad), but I'm really upset about this. Not only is Disney wasting money by making two utterly pointless DVDs, but now they're lying about one of them. It's pathetic and it shows how low the company will go just for a little extra money.

That seems like an odd reason seeing as how one of those titles is OOP and the other is extremely hard to find. Plus, why go through all the trouble when they could've just re-released the original 1-disc and 2-disc sets?

Seems I was right after all: these DVDs were made for the sole purpose of updating their Sneak Peaks and wrapping them in a pretty package.

Disney wants us to buy Tarzan:CE and TENG: CE at E-Bay and waste our money even more. Since they don't care bootlegs flow around e-bay.

Well, the thing is that altough it IS false advertising.... if you see the discount coupon on the Cinderella DVD it says in small letters that: "cover Art May Change"

So Disney can very well rely on this to defend themselves.

"Cover art may change" doesn't absolve Di$ney of reducing the number of advertised discs right up to the week before its release. I'll take 5 minutes at bbb.org and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for false advertising come Tuesday. If more people did it Di$ney would possibly get the idea that this type of practice isn't making them very popular with their customers. And since the other releases are oop & another one is probably 5 years away if people want it they're forced to buy a dvd that isn't what one Di$ney ad says it is.

Unless Disney has sunk low enough as to use multiple pseudonyms to secretly sell copies of the 2-disc Tarzan and TENG on eBay (which, I grant you, is a possibility given all their other recent behaviour), how would it make them any money? All the copies on Ebay were either sold in stores long ago, or are bootlegs; Disney has made all the money from those that they're going to.

If they actually wanted us to buy those two DVDs (I already have TENG, but really wanted Tarzan), why not release them instead of these paltry 1-disc versions?

They promised the full theatrical cut, and instead provided an edited version to be politically correct. I think that was what Little Red Henski was referring too.

Disney should be ashamed of its behavior. To think, all these lies and immoral behavior from the studio that made Pinnochio.

Aren't there like two or three other threads about almost the exact same topic? Just a observation.

I just saw a Tarzan commerical and it doesn't say anything about a 2-Disc treatment. I channel I saw it on was on Nick.

Well, I guess they do get away, technicallly, with the expression "uncut" in the case of Fantasia. To my knowledge they neither cut nor erased - in one particular portion of the film they just zoomed in for a few seconds so that a certain element was left out of the frame.
