WHY NOT EMAIL THEM

Post by disneyboy20022 »

Okay my question is this.. about the new Tarzan SE dvd and TENG SE dvd not being a 2-disc....Why don't we stop complaining on here and email the disney department. I know some people did when there was talk that the re-release of the Muppet Movies were coming only in Pan&Scan and everyone contacted disney and they quickly within 2 days said that they would put both Pan & Scan and Widescreen available on the discs. Now excuse me while I email my thoughts to Disney Customer service. Below is the link to the e-mail from when i Contacted them about my thoughts on the No widescreen Muppet Movies.

Emailing them and calling them are great to do. I doubt it will help with the street date being 2 weeks away. I emailed & called about the Muppets & I did the same about Tarzan when the 1 disc rumors first surfaced. I also emailed them Friday night & will call tomorrow to voice my displeasure. I'm especially upset with the false advertising (I would mention that in all correspondence). They've been advertising Tarzan as a 2 disc up to last week even. Trailers on Toy Story 10AE & Parent Trap 1&2 (I'm told) state it is to be a 2 disc SE. That is false advertising to boost presales. For one thing the MSRP should be cut in half now since we're only getting half the product promised.

I just watched the DVD trailer again on the site. It still states 2-Disc. Where did we get the information that it's going to be a 1-Disc?

Howdy!

Oh well. At least the commercials will finally be skippable now...

Also, glad to still see Spanish on this movie!

Plus, didn't Disney add a subwoofer effect to this version? Because the fact sheet states the sound as 5.1. The original releases were 5.0, which are the three front and two rear speakers and nothing coming out of the subwoofer.

Citing our resident tech expert deathie mouse, "Since we were mentioning the Tarzan 5.0 well aparently they decided to mix that soundtrack without sending the bass into the .1 instead the bass was mixed normaly into the 5 full frequency channels and since they're full frequency nothing really is being lost or compromised."

As I've said many times before, Tarzan is not one of my favorite movies but not because of the movie but because of the whole concept.

Anyways, I have the single disc edition (don't know if it was this one or actually Hercules the first Disney DVD I bought) and was just satisfied with it.

I didn't plan on upgrading my edition just for the extras.... but given the fact that I've learned to appreciate some movies more by learning the effort put into them, I might had upgraded in the distant future.

... now I just know I don't need to.

PS

Sorry for the people who did want this special edition. As in contrast to TENG, the collector's for Tarzan is OOP.

I believe that somebody who was from another animation site (who also goes on this forum) got both discs (Tarzan and New Groove) a little bit early and opened them up to find that they were both 1 discers.

Been lurking this forum forever but never felt the need to post anything until now.

Has anyone considered a class-action lawsuit? The trailer for this DVD on the recently released Toy Story: Special Edition DVD describes this as a 2-disc release and Disney's official Tarzan Web site still has the same trailer up.

This is false promotion and that's illegal. We may know in advance that the new Tarzan release has been switched from 2-disc to a single disc release, but the vast majority who buy this based on that trailer won't.

That's what I am thinking. I am nearly 100% positive that this will be a two disk. Trust me, it will. The rumor was just started by some jerk on the other site who wanted to boost their ego by posting this "secret" information. I won't believe it until I buy the DVD and ya' know what? It will be a two disk!!!
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

Please do not use personal insults in your posts jamminjake245. Christian of Animated-News is a valued member of our community.

I think it is possible that review copies are only being sent out as single disc (I'm not sure if Christian has a proper packed item or not), but his news, as well as the fact that the press release mentioned nothing from the second disc means we are open to all possibilities.

DVDPlanet are listing Tarzan Special Edition as a single disc release. No other sites that I can find are listing a 2 disc count, but a quick flick through the Froogle listings for "Tarzan Special Edition" reveals lots of 1s or disc count omissions. Indeed, DisneyDirect themselves don't mention the disc count, or include "AND MORE" after a list of the 'first disc' features.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Hopefully, someone will get back at Disney for this. Who has ever heard of a 1 disk special edition..in 2005!? Gah, if it was maybe 2001 I would understand, but this is just not acceptable for out standards. I don't own any other Tarzan releases, but I will not be buying this if it is one disk..which it won't be. Maybe Disney just sent the one disk think to reviewers due to piracy issues or something. I can't believe it is coming out in just two weeks and we don't even know what the features, finished art, or even the disk count!!

Seems pretty doubtful. Disney doesn't usually do that, and if they did, all the reviews that go out would talk about it as a single disc, thereby discouraging consumers, and Disney surely doesn't want that (well, even as I type that, I realize they must not mind it too much).

Everyone that lives in the UK
We have had to put up with quite afew 1 disc special editions for the past few years now, when the US get the same dvd as a 2 disc SE.
Seems now the tables have turned  We got a 2 disc Tarzan SE, you get a 1 disc. If you want it that bad then maybe you'll have to order a dreaded evil region 2 dvd :o

Sorry to sound harsh its just now you know what its like to get crappy 1 disc special editions when other countires have got 2 discs.

Well I have personally never rubbed in the fact of us getting "better" releases, but I think that is harsh.

Well considering the U.S. is the largest market it should get the best releases in my opinion. Also, Disney began in the U.S., and is in the U.S., so I think we should get the cream of the crop. Not trying to be rude, but that's just how it goes. Yes, I would love for everyone to get great DVD edtions, but in reality that probably won't happen. Not everyone will always be happy.
Best Movies of 2009:
1. Moon
2. Inglorious Basterds
3. The Hurt Locker
4. Coraline
5. Ponyo

I got my copy of Cinderella today from bestbuy.com & in the coupon booklet is a coupon for the October 18, 2005 release of the "2 DISC TARZAN SPECIAL EDITION". If it isn't a 2 discer this is the biggest #@%&UP in Disney history. I also got the Fog SE & BB.com didn't include the movie ticket, dammit. Boy I love dealing with BB.com customer service.

BTW The quality of Cinderellas presentation on this disc brings tears to my eyes. It's every bit as good as the review over at HTF says.
