by the way, should we say "read" or "wrote" instead of "hear" and "said"?
Well those verbs have different meanings. Like when you write "I heard this in the news." When you use the word "hear" people assumed that you watched it on TV or listen to it on the radio. So word choice is important.
I'm sorry I really can't explain it that well but it really depends on what the person actually did. So whatever that did that you are describing that's the word you want to use. Especially in informal writting or speach.

I know, but when we are talking here on the forum, because we could say "I´m glad to hear you´re right" but we are reading it, so it would be "I´m glad to READ you´re ok"?

But that's sounds akward so you wouldn't use "read." Besides this forum is formal so you would use formal definitions. And we're not talking on the forum, we're writting on the forum. Actually if you rewote it as "I'm glad to read that you are ok" is fine but that's informal.

Siggy - A Sign Of A True Marxist

Post by creid »

I quoting one of my favorite songs from my favorite comedian...Groucho Marx. I love most of the Marx Brothers movies including some of their non-classics and find their comedy stylings keep me sane. Love the WB Marx Brother set, even with the flipper discs, but Universal really crapped a lame disc of the anarachy best.

I think most people would be familiar with the movie my signature came from (and for those of you who have been living under a rock for the last 6 years, it's Toy Story 2  ) This is such a good example of why I love the Toy Story movies -- great characters and dialogue.
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.

Alan's been in half of my WTF's so far. His words are gold!

WTF Quote #1:
Alan: (about me flying from Florida to FT. Worth to get BATB) Well, you can always fly down to Ft. Worth stay overnight in a hotel and get it yourself.

WTF Quote #2:
Teede: (kisses [Snow White Sequel] and it wakes up) There. How's that?

WTF Quote #3:
Alan: Its very sad to know that ********** dies.
DisneyFan 2000: I hate you.

WTF Quote #4:
Teede: Hello? Can anyone responding me?

WTF Quote #5: (note, I'd like to retract this quote, if possible, but then my numbers will be screwed up)
Lazario: I actually know what you said. A whole lot of nothing.

WTF Quote #6:
Princess Jasmine: I hate it when nobody replies to my posts so therefore I decided to give you some company.

WTF Quote #7:
Alan:Have never heard of Peter Jennings before, so I don't really care.
Luke: Wow. Thank you sooooooo much for sharing!

WTF Quote #8:
Alan: I just find it sad that whenever I make a thread about Ben-Hur coming out on four disc DVD, only like 3 people reply.

15 is too far a number, and I'm getting tired of looking for WTF's, so WTF #8 is my last, and my new siggy will debut when I come up with a better idea.

One of my friends just likes to make really bizzare stories! One of the stories was how he got this "baby with a skull head" from the blackmarket and he know keeps it as a pet. I asked where he got this pet and his reply made me laugh the whole day.

The funny thing about Alan is, the more I read from him, the more I'm amused, but also the more I can't stand him.
