So why not buy the current one that is out.

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I don't think a re-release of The Emperor's New Groove has been planned for as long as Tarzan has. Throughout this year, a lot of countries got a re-release of Tarzan, so we knew we would get one eventually. We now have a cover, a disc, a website, and a trailer. But nothing for The Emperor's New Groove. And I think that is because it was a "spur of the moment" decision to do a re-release. No need to worry though. I bet Disney will give us a cover and a website within the next week or so.

I havn't seen it one place accept for FYE at a local mall for 40 dollars. No one would spend that much for it.

I'm guessing by packaging, he's not speaking of the special 2-Disc DVD case that some 2-Disc movies were released in (i.e.: Snow White, The Emperor's New Groove, Tarzan, or the Vault Collection Series). Instead it'll be the standard DVD case with an extra thing to hold the 2nd disc in (i.e.: Pocahontas or Lion King).

Emperor's New Goove cover art?

Post by Solid Liquid Fox »

Very disappointed in the unimaginative cover art and the continuing mislabeling of Disney catalog movies. The "New Groove Edition" wording is not featured in the cover art as clearly as the Tarzan SE saying "Special Edition".

Can Disney just pick a term like "Special Edition" and stick with it?

While I agree it isn't as good as this:

I personally thought it was waaaaaay better than this:

Overall I like it. I praying that it comes in a 2-Disc set though because I don't want to have to pay an outrageous price for the Collector's Edition.

I don't really like the cover all that much either but a few months ago I bought the great 2-disc collector's edition.

Oh Timon/Pumbaa Fan I think you got those two links messed up.

LOL!

While I love the fact that it's gold, I always thought it looked rather hideous. Maybe a little bit more detail would've made me liked it better.

I really love the CE cover and most people I talk to love it as well but there are the ones who like the other one better. I don't think it's so bad and when I think of Empoeror's New Groove or anything South American I think of either Gold or lots of brilliant colours so they both are okay.

The Tarzan CE cover is much more superior than the ENG one though. :)

The Emperer's New Groove hi-res cover art.

Post by MadonnasManOne »

www.dvdanswers.com has posted hi-res cover art http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?r=0 ... &n=1&burl= , as well as specs for the release (which we already have). Apparently, this is a single-disc affair.

I have never seen this film, but why re-release the single disc version, rather than the previous CE? I don't understand the reasoning behind this. I would have picked up the new release, were it a 2-Disc version.

I guess I'll just order the previous CE for an early Christmas gift to myself.
