Apart from the obvious choice (slipcovers like duhh! ) I'd go with bonus features. I always enjoy seeing how my favourite movies were created.

I believe that 2 discs are better than 1.

and to those who voted 'slipcover', I can't imagine why! :headshake: no offense...
Bonus features would also include Games, Behind the Scenes, Outtakes, Music Videos, Interviews, and much more. A Bonus Feature is anything over the movie.

If it's a title that I have on video in its OAR, then I'd go with bonus features. For a title that I don't already own in its (possibly correct if it's a pan and scan video/DVD) form, then I'd go with the actual content in its OAR. Slipcovers are not important.

And when I meant "pan and scan", I meant movies not in their Original Aspect Ratio. All older films from before 1955 were filmed in fullscreen, therefore the presentation on a normal video will probably be in OAR! Therefore, they're not pan and scan! :D

When I first saw this title I knew Alan was going to say slipcover!

Anyways the films is obviously most important. And of coarse the bonus features are too. That's pretty much it. Oh yeah and it has to be in Widescreen.

The actual movie is the most important to me and then comes the OAR.

I make sure the spine art matches the other DVD's in the set/from the same company. Also, I want my films in OAR. But artwork is a main factor. Not slipcovers, though.

I chose other, first of all R1 real, non bootlegged dvd. I accidentally bought a bootlegged off of ebay, I was soo mad. But, secondly, price. I only buy dvds that are on sale. :D

Personally, with any Disney DVD, I look to see if it has audio commentaries. No good DVD is without an audio commentary in my book.

The movie itself is most imporant. Here is my price/movie quality chart.
Rate Price
10 $25
9 $20
8 $15
7 $8
6 $5

Bonus features are worth $5 for a 9 or 10 and $2 for lower ratings
Others not worth buying unless I getting "free" in a set.

It's all about the movie for me. Especially if it's in it's original aspect ratio. I can't STAND the editing or changing of anything (ESPECIALLY if it's for political correctness :x )
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I would say for me that one of the most important qualities is if the movie has been restored to the way it was when first released (Snow White, My Fair Lady)
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.
