Ahem, excuse you. That's cardboard, not paper; and quality made cardboard at that. Well worth 23 bucks or more.

like I said before, I didn't buy just for slipcover, because I watched through the movie and all the bonus features, although I didn't thorougly enjoy the experience. And I spent my gift certificate that my friend gave me on it. So its not my parents' money.

Hey Alan,

You should sell your copy of Bambi on eBay to someone that'll actually enjoy it for what it is, and you can keep the slipcover all to your self. And you'll have more money to buy a future release of a Disney movie you may like more.

Or better yet, keep the slipcover and send the DVD to me! I already own Bambi, but I'm sure I could find some use for it!

I'll sell it later when a new format takes over and DVDs get out of fashion

Okay so Alan just gets the Disney DVD's for it's slipcover and not for the movie itself.

The post below is from the slipcover thread in Feedback:
Alan wrote:The only reason I got bambi was for the slipcover: The movie was bad. The slipcover was nice
Don't take that too seriously. I'm just messing with you. I'm glad you watched the bonus features, also. Why would you sell it when a new format takes over? The demand for it will go down drastically.

I just did that for the Bambi DVD.
And I got it because I liked the artwork on the slipcover, and I like slipcovers. I collect DVDs with slipcovers

oh and mickemousepal, didn't you tell me that the reason you got the one disc tarzan DVD was because you liked the cover art better than the collectors edition?

You know, some car collectors buy the best car, they watch it and take care of them, but some of them never run them.
The engine damages, the car never work well, the battery lose the charge.

A DVD is like a good car, to run it, to use it and enjoy it.
Fungus may grow on some DVDs(they´re like little green spots) and destroy the DVD and because of not using it.
At least lend it to someone and let him enjoy the movie

Since when does the artwork for Tarzan on the one disc set look better than the classy look of the two disc set?!!!

. . . must. . . not. . . freak. . . out. . .

Well, to each his own, right?

Great analogy, but I did watch the DVD.

Breathe in, breathe out, brea...

He's saying that if you only watch it a few times and then never watch it again, it grows "DVD fungus", and that if you're not going to watch it anymore, it belongs to someone who will watch it more often. Great, now I feel bad for my DVDs that I haven't watched in a while.

EDIT: 300th post. Wow. I remember three weeks ago when I first joined this forum. I think I might do this for all my posts on the "00". I feel so much wiser than my n00b self.

Then I feel bad for the people who have 2000 DVDs. How the heck can they watch each once in a while?

I mean't was that you had the two disc collection, but you wanted the one disc DVD because it had a "great" cover.

Alan wrote:And I got it because I liked the artwork on the slipcover,
Um...not sure if it's just my eyes or millions of others, but last time I saw the slipcover...it was the same exact artwork as the regular case cover.

I don't know why we're still talking about this. We've got all the facts now, so what's there left to say except some witty banter?

The Facts:
1. Alan collects DVDs
2. Alan prefers collecting 2-disc DVDs (from another thread)
3. Alan only collects Disney DVDs if it has a Slipcover
4. Alan only bought Bambi because for some reason he found the slipcover better looking than the case cover, even though it's the same exact thing.
5. All slipcovers from Disney has the same exact artwork on the case.

Assumptions from Facts:
a. If Alan buys a DVD, it will be a 2-discer
b. If Alan buys a Disney DVD, it will have a slipcover.
c. If Alan buys Disney DVDs because the slipcover has nice artwork, he must not know that the case has the same artwork since he only buys Disney DVDs for the slipcovers.
d. If Disney decided to no longer make slipcovers, Alan will no longer buy Disney DVDs.

Ya know, I've often wondered that myself.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out exactly how many I have, and it seems I only have over 200 or so, and even that seems like an awful lot to me.

Still, it's never enough!

Awwwww, but I like witty banter; it's witty. I don't consider it pointless banter, it's just that Alan made the thread so we could help him find a DVD. He got it, and now we're just talking about his purchase and expressing our opinions; so is Alan.

You can also take a weekend to clean them, and prevent them of generating that fungus

Wow! I never heard of fungus growing on DVD's, I used to grow a lot of fuguses, I should try this. But I agree with you on the car thing, if I have a Fearri Enzo which, is like a 2 million dallor car, I'll probably never drive it.
