Because (and he'll say this) when Disney puts BAMBI in the vault, Disney fans who didn't buy the BAMBI DVD when it was out will seek it and pay lots more for it.

I know I'm not MMP but I've heard it soo many times from him! :)
But hey, when you have the money and earn it, you can spend it any way you like! ;)

I guess that is a good enough reason, I have noticed I can still find the Lion King Movies which were put in the vault a few months back at a lot of local stores around here. Maybe I should get more copies

I thought so too. Then I went to see the making-of. It changed the way I view the movie!

Lion King = Fast paced, modern humor, modern characters etc...
Bambi = Slow, no "real" plot, dated animation...

Don't get me wrong, I love it but I can see how someone my age can find it boring.

Hmm. I thought Bambi has a plot.

The animals are cute though.

Well, not a plot by todays standards.
* I DO like the movie. Just pointing out some shortcomings.

that´s the bad on the new generations, they don´t aprecciate a movie when it have no visual violence, cheap jokes and gags and is so quick you don´t create a bond with the main character

*applause* Bambi does have a plot. It's the same storyline that we all go through: life.

If only I knew the lyrics to that song... Isn't that one of the few good plots out there, though? It tells the tale of life, love and friendship. Yet it's still bought only because of a piece of cardboard.

It's a darn shame indeed. :( I still just cannot figure out why you would buy a movie you dislike just for the slipcover.

Love is a Song that never ends
life may be swift and fleeting
hope may dies
yet love´s beautiful music
comes each day like the dawn

love is a song that never ends
one single theme repeating
as the voice from a heavenly choir
love´s sweet music flows on

I KNOW it does. I'm just pointing out how modern viewers see it. You have to agree, the plot is quite unusual, and some just can't understand why the movie doesn't have an adventure of some kind to go through.

Is not realy a unusual plot, because it taks about how life,no matter what, it have is beauty side.
We shouldn´t focus just in the movie when judging, but also the tiem when it was made, in that times Bambi was a knowed bok and one of the marketing logos was "The story of the book of the year--reading book club--"
Also the US was in war, and a moie like this give the oportunity to escape for a very litle time of the reality and realize the real message of the movie.

Well, you know Bambi will be 63 years old on Aug. 13... cut it some slack. Especially, when you're comparing it to a movie that is a lot younger than it (TLK, for instance).

What's TLK :? The Lizard King? j/k

I should rent Bambi because everyone is talking about it. Bambi looks like a wonderful film.

I like the bright colors in the screencaps.

A great love story. :D
