The typical answer would be "yes" considering people are just stating one answer. But I think it can also be answered as "Maybe." But if we add some discussion to our answers, then it could stay in General "Discussion", but we'll wait and see what Luke and the mods think.JiminyCrick91 wrote:should this be in the polls and games?
Personally, I would have to say Beauty and the Beast because it was the first Disney *romantic* movie I remember seeing. The music is certainly appealing and catchy and the scenes are full of color. The characters are a lot more entertaining that what you see in Snow White and Sleeping Beauty (in my opinion).
DVD wise, I'd pick Snow White because it was the first and still has the better bonus features. Movie wise, I'd pick BatB.

Beauty And The Beast has enchantment plus romance. I like how Belle has feelings for the Beast. She broke the spell. Gaston is a good villian insisting to do anything so he can marry Belle even though in the end he fails. I like that romantic dance with Belle and the Beast and the song "Beauty And The Beast." It's also one of the Disney movies that I saw on ice. When you bought the program, you also got an artificial rose and to this day I still have it.

Beauty And The Beast has a special place for me. I payed more than normal for the VHS tape as it was OOP when I bought it and the only place that had it was The Disney Store. I ended up paying more as a result but I'm glad I did.

IMO, Beauty and the Beast is the best film, period. Really, what movie in the history of cinema has a more romantic scene than that ballroom scene, or a more beautiful love song than Beauty's title song? It's pure magic.tinkerbell-cup wrote:beauty and the best is the best disney film!

Between Snow White and Sleeping Beauty... I think it's Sleeping Beauty!!! But I'm crazy! This is so hard... I think I enjoy Snow White more than Sleeping Beauty!!! Maybe Sleeping Beauty has a special place in my heart... It's so hard!!!
However, I think some people don't like Snow White that much for her ingenuosity and her too innocent look, and that voice adds to that oh so innocent image - could people be intimidated by it???
When I watched Snow White this year (after not seeing it for years, as I wasn't a Disney fan then) I was really really charmed by her and I really cried when she died!! I was extremely tense when the witch came by because I knew what would happen to Snow White.
I think that time I watched the movie, I just let go of past judgement and let myself be charmed.
But Sleeping Beauty is still cool! Maybe I'm just stunned by Aurora's beauty and the inimitable art of the movie. But then again, I just love the color scheme of Snow White and how 'cute' and pretty all the scenery is. I also love the castle, with its decorations and secret dungeon - and not just the fact that it has many places, but how they actually look / are.
Oh God... whatever... I'll just love them without judging or comparing stuff.

Well, maybe she was too inocent:
*SHe talkd to the animals
*She trusted on the Evil Queen
*When she saw this guy with the knife coming she didn´t ran
*She lived with 7 man but she wasn´t an easy shoot
*She eated an apple from a strange old lady
*She maried the first man she kissed.
Shee really need to take a grip...

I second the first half of that statement, but I like the idea of the second half...Disneykid wrote:Beauty and the Beast, but don't you think this is sort of taking things too far? What's next? Snow White vs. Sleeping Beauty vs. Beauty and the Beast vs. The Little Mermaid vs. Cinderella vs. Aladdin vs. Pocahontas vs. Mulan?

I choose Snow White because it was the "one that started it all" but i think if Sleeping Beauty was the one that started them then that would be the one i like better, if you think, without snow white there would be no sleeping beauty... or maybe not one as good

Well that's what I was going to say, but you beat me to it (and did a better job).Disneykid wrote:Sleeping Beauty, without a doubt. It's hard for me to really say why, though. I think Sleeping Beauty's whole is better than its parts, whereas Snow White is vice versa. Snow White has more colorful characters and a better script (Sleeping Beauty must have one of the shortest scripts in the Disney canon), but I think Sleeping Beauty has an overall better plot, animation, and score. It also feels more sophisticated to me than Snow White in terms of presentation.
