Snow White Versus Sleeping Beauty

Which classical film do you like better?

I prefer Sleeping beauty because Snow White's voice was really creepy, and Sleeping Beauty is just a masterpiece and the Tchaikovsky music was just wonderful!

No question. Snow White. It was the first every animated film by Disney and I believe the first animated full length feature.

Both are great films but I'm going to go with Sleeping Beauty. It has alot of excitment and is more entertaing than Snow White. But Snow White is still great. Not only was it the one that started it all but it was funnier than Sleeping Beauty(mainly because of the dwarfs! :D)

By the way I think this thread is better in the polls and games.

Sleeping Beauty. Aurora actually speaks like an intelligible human being. Too bad it was a flop; like I always say, the movie-going audience just doesn't know a good movie when they see it...

There's a lot more reasons why I like Snow White. There's more songs in Snow White than in Sleeping Beauty. Then there's the dwarfs and they're funny. I like how the animals help Snow White clean up the dwarfs house and clean the dishes. There's a lot to like about Snow White.

I don't hate Sleeping Beauty. It's a good movie but I just like Snow White better. My all-time favourite movie is The Lion King.

Snow White. For the dwarves, the animals and the songs.

Never was a huge fan of Sleeping Beauty, but it wasn't all that bad.

I wouldn't rank either as favorites but would definitely put SW over SB.

Too me its a toss up

Snow White had better music, it was the one that started it all and the characters were better.

Sleeping Beauty has far superior animation though, and Malificent is a superior villain to the Evil Queen.

That is exactly the reason why I prefer Sleeping Beauty over Snow White.

Sleeping Beauty by far!

Maleficent was a more menacing villian, IMO. And who can forget her dragon transformation. What did the Evil Queen transform into? An old hag. The dragon was kick arse!

Prince Phillip was also probably one of the best princes of Disney. Not quite as stale as others. Though his swordsman skills needed to be brushed up on. He looked like a 6 year old with a lightsaber the way he carelessly swung it around most the time ;)

The Fairies were fantastic. They brought some nice lighthearted humour to the story.

Snow White was never a favorite of mine. I don't care if it was the first. Snow White's voice was painfully annoying. While Aurora's voice was so soft and lovely.

She is a wicked witch, with a lot of power.
So evil, but yet in her very evil being it exist a little humor on her. Sarcastical humor of course!
Evil, powerfull, sarcastical, and she can turn into a big dragon

he perfect vilian

Actually, Maleficent is an evil fairy, not a witch :)

The Evil Queen wanted Snow White dead because a magic mirror said she was beautiful. This is certainly very evil

But wanting to kill an infant because you weren't invited to the party, that just seems much more disgustingly evil to me

Also, the overall animation and character designs were MUCH better in Sleeping Beauty. And I prefer the score and music in Sleeping Beauty. There is very little I liked in Snow White...I liked the mirror, and the raven, and the Evil Queen looked neat. But I was never much for the original fairytale myself anyways, so Disney animating it didn't do it any better for me.

And neither do you. :P

This poll is a tough choice for me. Sleeping Beauty was the first film that we ever got on video sometime in the 1980s, so that film has sentimental value. There's so many beautiful things in the film. Malifecant is a great Disney villain, and the music and animation are a beauty.

However, despite sentimental value towards Sleeping Beauty, from adult eyes, I really think Snow White provides the better film. Although the animation in this film isn't quite as good as in SB, story wise, Snow White is, for me, a bit better. The Queen provides a better villain, the story seems a bit more fun and the songs, are just slightly better since they were the work of Disney artists and not of masters like Tchwaikowsky in SB

Plus, if it weren't for Snow White, we wouldn't have all the other Disney classics to watch, including Sleeping Beauty. :P
