New Upcoming Sequels!!!

Hercules is the only movie that I think could use a sequel. I won't be buying any of these otherwise. Although after the travesty of Mulan II, I'm worried about what they'll make of Herc.

I would definitely like a Hercules sequel.

TLM, Cinderella are unecessary, but I bet people will buy it because they are princesses.

Aristocats and Fox&the Hound, yes.
Brother Bear..maybe; I'm still debating.

But then again, K over here likes to spend money on sequels, so I might purchase all of them.

Isn't anyone else disappointed that The Fox and the Hound's sequel will obviously destroy the first's bittersweet ending? I mean, you could have the best script ever but it'll still distract from the original's lovely ending!

Exactly. Some movies end in the perfect place. Monsters Inc. is the perfect example of that. A sequel would ruin the perfection of the ending.

I agree. Why do a sequel for Monsters, Inc? It ended prerfectly.

The Fox and the Hound does have one of my favorite Disney endings, but a sequel that carries an ending with a similar bittersweet tone could work out fine.

What would ruin it for me on this one is if they brightened the somber colors that matched the mood of the film.

Yeah. I'll bet The Great Mouse Detective is based on Eve Titus' Basil Of Baker Street book series that they could make a sequel to The Great Mouse Detective because they can make new villians.

The only obvious choices for sequels aren't even made or have plans for sequels:

Alice in Wonderland
Sleeping Beauty
Sword in the Stone
The Black Cauldron

They ALL have more stories; more real, true, honest, actual, it's-already been-written-it-just-has-to-be-adapted-for-Disney stories. As it has already been stated, Alice has Alice through the Lookin Glass (though Disney's Alice already included Tweedle Dee and Dum from the Through the Looking Glass). Sleeping Beauty stopped at its halfway point. We have yet to meet the Prince's ogress mother (GRENDEL!) and see Aurora's children and have the Prince go to war. The Sword in the Stone has three sequels (though Disney may have to revise some situations and plotlines). And the Black Cauldron was the book series The Chronicles of Prydain (though Disney did shuffle a bunch of stuff from the books into the one movie). Okay, well after rereading my post, there are a few legitimate reasons as far as story goes to why the obvious sequels aren't sequels.

Anyhow, most of the sequels now are prequels or inbetweenquels probably due to the popularity of Lion King 1 1/2 so I suspect some or most or all of the sequels MermaidKelly listed are these kind of sequels.

It's a DTV: Direct-to-Video. Those are always awful.

Ah...I forgot about Julia Roberts in Hook. She was great in that, but that's a completely different movie.

Why bother on making a sequel of Sleeping Beauty, when the ending is perfect, the story is magical, the evil caracter is just Evil(with capital "V")?

Well even after the sequel, the original movie will still end in exactly the same place.
