So Shrek isn't a great animated classic, and it includes a lot of references to Disney...BIG DEAL! It's entertaining, and it's fun! Isn't that all that matters?

Apparently not for some with the power of the pen.
But again, I don't care that someone doesn't care for a film. But when they start insulting the intelligence of others that happen to like the film, well, that's where I start to lose respect and have a problem with them. Such rants only serve to cheapen their own position, IMO.

Latino Review interviewed Antonio Banderas. Here's what they said about Shrek 2:
LR: Are you done with Shrek 2?

Antonio: You never stop because the process of making a movie like that is so weird. They call you, you do some scenes, and they try the scenes with first drawings. Monday I did like my 3rd session, it’s very interesting because they put cameras on you so they can just copy your expressions and they put it on the cartoon later. It’s a very interesting process how they do that and they brought some of the material there and we just cracked up [Laughs] it was unbelievable. Character [Puss-in-Boots] is very very [does Spaniard imitation] Spanish guy, beautiful cat and the story is fantastic. And they are going to present the second one in Cannes Film Festival in 2004. It’s just a cool story actually.

Why is Puss in Boots Spanish? It's French. And why is Robin Hood in the first Shrek French? He's British.

Do they not even bother to research the subjects of their parodies anymore?
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
