Well yes, but I think it'll only enhance the whole experience. Dumbo sounds like a strange movie to start with though!

I've seen the 3D animated Dumbo from the Disney Resort's 50th Anniversary commercials... but he scared me.
The 3D Stitch wasn't bad at all, though.

I'm actually very intrigued by the idea. In my opinion, this is much better than remaking those films in CGI because you're still see the hardwork that the artists put into them, just in a new light. I find the choice of starting with Dumbo to be very bizarre, though. Peter Pan would make a much better starting point, in my opinion. Can you imagine that shot of the children flying past the camera towards the end of "You Can Fly..." in 3-D? It could be absolutely amazing. I don't know how well the general public would respond to this new wave of re-releases, though.

I think it's a weird idea, but also an interesting idea. But why Dumbo? I'm not saying that Dumbo is a bad picture, but wouldn't be better if they used a movie that has more action and more effects like Fantasia. Actually, Walt Disney actually wanted the Tocatta in Fugue in D Minor in 3-D, but Walt couldn't afford to do it. I think that this IMAX 3-D thing could be pretty revolutionary in watching these classic films again on the silver screen.

I am now actually excited about this idea. I can just imagine how it would feel like to fly through London's sky!Disneykid wrote: Peter Pan would make a much better starting point, in my opinion. I think some people are getting hold of the wrong end of the stick here.
The news is talking about the original 2D film of Dumbo in 3D, as in Spy Kids 3D. You know where you wear the glasses and it appears as if things are coming out of the screen at you.
Not CGI, as in Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas or the DisneyLand commercial.
