I went to see the Fiery Furnaces last night. Awesome show. Almost like a single hour-long compilation of their songs, mish-mashed. Really great stuff.
So naturally, listening to them today.

Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
The DualDisc version of Nine Inch Nails' "the Downward Spiral".
Sounds great in 5.1 and for $4.99, can't be beat!

Seen them twice now. The first time they were opening for Franz Ferdinand, but this was a proper solo show the other night.pinocchioMAN wrote:Man, I love the Fiery Furnaces. Well, while I'm here: Beck's new record, Guero and bits and pieces of The Kills new record (No Wow), until they finally release it locally (it is supposed to be out here, but slow local distributor).

Hi
I am listening to a midi of Easter Parade.

Dig That Sweet, Sweet Music
I LOVE(!!!!!) that song!!!orestes. wrote:Previously: Til Tuesday - Voices Carry

"Today"
One of the unsung bands of the 90's. I forget just how good they were.
I used to own Dummy. But thank goodness I've got my favorite tunes from that CD down on various burns. My favorite from that album is "It's a Fire". No other song on that CD can touch it, really. "Roads" comes close. And the lyrics to "Glory Box" are excellent.Key wrote:Artist: Portishead
Track: Roads
Album: Dummy
I love Beth Gibbons voice... and this song. Very haunting song and trip-hop at its finest (well, along with Hooverphonic and Massive Attack, anyway).
That's an amazing album. I have that song on CD, and I've listened to that song more times than I casually care to admit.Key wrote:Artist: Massive Attack
Track: Teardrop
Album: Mezzanine
Massive Attack plus Portishead equals... beautiful trip-hop song. (: Everyone should listen to this song. It's almost life-changing.Well, perhaps not quite LIFE-CHANGING (though I first heard it in a turning point in my life... in a stupid flash animation of all places!) but it's beautiful regardless.
THAT'S WHERE THAT QUOTE AT THE BEGINNING IS FROM?!! I never knew. "Sargeant..." I haven't seen Wicker Man yet. Wow...Key wrote:Artist: Sneaker Pimps
Track: How Do
Album: Becoming X
The Sneaker Pimp's rendition of Willow's song from The Wicker Man. Awesome cover. <3
Oh I know, like "One Way Ride" (yuck!). But I adore this song (ESF) so much!! Though I hope if you have this CD, you get the extra hidden song, the title track. There's another version of this CD where the bonus track is different, "Neon". I have both, but I downloaded "Neon".Key wrote:Artist: Hooverphonic
Track: Electro Shock Faders
Album: Blue Wonder Power Milk
Ethereal trip-hop. This album isn't nearly as good as their debut (A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular) but it's still pretty good. Some songs in BWPM have downright atrocious lyrics, though, even though the music itself is good.
That album is KILLER. And I'm not really much a fan of pop. In fact, I have ONE burned CD containing my only favorite pop songs of the past 6 years (1999-2004). However, with Stefani's amazing "What You Waiting For?" I had to own her whole album. I do now, it's sitting next to me right now, and you can bet it will be played later today.Daelex wrote:Artist: Gwen Stefani

Song: Danger Zone
I did not like that album the first time I listened to it. The first songs were too thick and heavy for me. But, I still love that single "Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth". And "Whipping Tree" is jaw-dropping, incredible, there ARE NO words to describe it of course. But the song on that album that kills me, and I love it, it's one of my favorite songs of all-time- "Good Morning". I love to turn that one on in my car and phase out. I don't have that CD anymore, nor that song anywhere on my burned CDs but I might pick that CD up again soon. Also, "Orange" is another great song. WOW, that is a great CD!Key wrote:Artist: The Dandy Warhols

As I type and browse this board, I'm listening to songs from The Pictures second EP, "Singin' It Just to See".
The Pictures are fronted by Davey Lane, lead guitarist for the one, the only You Am I.

I love this... it's the music that was playing in the Howl's Moving Castle trailer that was posted here in this forums a while back. Sounds European and utterly loverly.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
