To all you packaging experts out there, I've got a question! Does Amazon ship the Atlantis CE in a box? I really hope so, from the pictures it looks incredible!

EDIT: Thank you for all the wonderful pictures! The international covers look very classy!!

i am so jealous of the UK and France right now, i wonder why Disney doesn't release these collector's sets in the US. I also wonder why Disney gives the US such ugly cover cases. If the French dvd's weren't in French (unless they have a english selection?) i would buy the French dvd's before the US dvd's. I especially love the Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast Cases!!!!

You have an english section in the Fench sets but you know we had (in the past...) beautiful cover and packaging but sometimes, less contents than your region 1 sets, so... :)

That's not always true! Atlantis has no English supplements and Sleeping Beauty has its supplements over-dubbed in French. However, they always give the option of watching the movie with the original English soundtrack and no forced subtitles.

Don't know 'bout Atlantis but you're right about the bonus for Sleeping Beauty. But, when you put the disc in your player, it is first asked to you to chose the language for the movie but also for the DVD menus. I meant that talking about section.
And for most titles, the bonus features are in english with possible French subtitles.

Atlantis UK CE

The UK CE (beware, there is also a single disc Pan and Scan only release) comes in a shiny silver case.

Image
Big Image

It's hard to see the silver casing properly in these images, but the top comes off like the top of a bottle.

Image
Big Image

Inside is a normal slim Aramay case, holding 2 the 2 discs. I like the simple design of this cover - shame the BBFC symbol ruins it.

Image
Big Image

Beauty and the Beast CE UK

A 2 disc digipack. The cover is a simple, but effective image.

Image
Big Image

When partially unfolded the following is visible

Image
Big Image

And when fully unfolded the following is visible

Image
Big Image

The Lion King: Exclusive Edition France

A three-disc digipack. The design of this case it superb. The cover his foil-stamped at the top and bottom bands, and the film's logo. (Hard to see on these images). The inner case has the single image of Simba from the US/UK cover on it.

Image
Big Image

Open this up and you are greeted with the view of the pridelands.

Image
Big Image

Fully unfolded the contents are Disc 1, Disc 2 and the French Special Edition Soundtrack CD

Image
Big Image

Peter Pan CE France

When the contents are placed in the case, Peter Pan's shadow is visible on the moon.

Image
Big Image

Take the inner contents out, and the face of Big Ben is seen, along with a playful Peter Pan and Wendy through the cut-out circle.

Image
Big Image

Begin to unfold the inner packaging and you get this beautiful image.

Image
Big Image

Unfold all the way and you get this:

Image
Big Image

Sleeping Beauty CE France

Like many other Disney sets, a digipack with lots of interesting artwork

Image
Big Image

Image
Big Image

Image
Big Image

Snow White CE UK

This came in a strong, cardboard box. The box was designed to look like a book, and does indeed "open like a book"

Image
Big Image

Open the "book" up and the inner cover repeats the opening of the book in the movie, while the Aramey case is laid inside

Image
Big Image

Take the case out, and the 144 page "Art of the Making" book is resting inside a clear plastic holder.

Image
Big Image

The book is much better than the book with the US Lion King Gift Set

Image
Big Image
 ... :o ... :jawdrop:

HOLY F&$^ING CRAP!!!!!!

Those are magnificent! Netty, thanks for the great pics! ...I better leave, I feel a strong pulse of jealousy coming in...

i'm still in shock bc of the artwork for the european movies. i can't understand why we wouldn't have artwork like that! i guess i'm weird but i'd rather have an awesome looking case than more extra features! lol

Yes. Peter Pan has English features as well as French. But the DTS soundtrack is French only. Note Peter Pan is now OOP and selling for a premium on the Amazon.fr site.

This review of the Japanese Anthology lets you know what contents to expect on the French set (its the Peter Pan disc and the Peter Pan "Bonus Disc")

As for Atlantis - I don't know. I've never seen it in a shop without the shiny box cover, but I've not actually seen it in a shop for about a year now. In fact, I'm not sure if it's OOP or not.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

It's in print. The 2 Disc set can be bought on www.play.com and www.amazon.co.uk. I also saw it recently in a HMV and in also in a Disney Store with a ripped slipcover.
