I absolutely love this movie!
As a child I had the standard 114 minute version taped off the TV which I watched all the time! This got accidentally wiped sometime in the late 90s. Anyway it did not really bother me at the time being a teenager, a time when having less disney movies is usually a good thing, (now I've learnt the error of my ways!

)
I toyed with getting the extended version on VHS but held out for the DVD and wow was I impressed. I feel the added scenes make the movie feel more full. The short version never seemed like it was missing anything, but once you've seen the extended version, there ain't no going back!

Yes the original footage was found, but they could not find the original language tracks so they needed to be redubbed. With the exception of the Song 'A Step in the Right Direction' where it was the other way round, the found the track but not the film!
