Re: Disney Animation on Blu-ray in 2014

I'm kind of late to the discussion about Ichabod / Fancy Free, but I wanted to look into a little bit of the Reluctant Dragon feature that was included. Most reviews I've seen, including DVDizzy's own, state that the transfer was pretty good or "the best looking of the set". I quickly chec...

Re: The Sword in the Stone 50th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD

Ken Brown recently, upon second viewing of the transfer, dropped the ".5" off the video score of his review. Of course there's still debate with Blu-Ray.com's reviews and how in occasions poor Blu-Rays get decent reviews and fine transfers get terrible reviews (Shout Factory's Bruce Lee se...

Re: Gravity Falls A Must See TV Show

Matt Chapman, one of the Brother Chaps who are now working on the show, posted a semi-official link of the Gravity Falls panel from Comic Con over the weekend. It also includes the cold open for the season finale and a clip of Wander Over...

Re: Disney Animation on Blu-ray in 2013

WOW. It looks like a transfer Disney did for the "Wizarrific Spells with Merlin Edition" DVD or whatever it was named and they never paid the money to support a fresh-new one for Blu-Ray. I guess the reviews on this once they come out are going to be savage and notice the DVNR-issues. Anyo...

Re: Disney Animation on Blu-ray in 2013

Well you guys are in for a hoot and a holler. I got to take a peek at the new Disney canon/cheapquel packs in a local public warehouse yesterday. Lilo and Stitch and Emperor's New Groove did not display any extras on the packaging while only Atlantis did. Just today on the Blu-Ray.com forum it only ...

Funny you say that. Isn't this based off a Broadway musical that was itself inspired by a cheesy 60's film?

Little Shop of Horrors: The Director's Cut

Warner Home Video will stock shelves with Little Shop of Horrors: The Director’s Cut on Blu-ray for the first time ever on October 9th. The Blu-ray debut includes two high-definition versions of the 1986 cult-classic: the theatrical cut and a director’s cut that features a newly restored, 20-minute...

So basically it's drawing over the existing CG animation? Sounds more like next gen rotoscoping than something that's knocking the socks out of people.

But I'll know if it's good or not when I'll actually see something out of "Paperman".

I could care less about the disc art on 'John Carter (of Mars)'. Disney probably didn't think it was worthy of it after the dismal reception.

It does make me wonder why the 3D disc has artwork though. Guess they thought the mediocre conversion was going to be the best thing of the release.
