Well, Animation isn't cheap -- they could have just done a Disneyland commercial with the park performers in costume and done nothing special at all! Wish I could afford to fly out for a visit to DLR soon!

HOTR is a great little film. The only problem with it I think was that it went a bit too far off into the Shrek scatalogical humor area. The visuals were great; it has an awesome Mary Blair feel to it, and I think the use of 3D / Deep Canvas was perfect. It accentuated the flat style of the characte...

I will not mention any titles that have better re-releases. 1. Pinocchio - this movie should have some extras! Hopefully the BD will rectify it. 2. Hercules - non-Anamorphic Widescreen. This should have been corrected for the Gold Collection, but it didn't - that's why I still have the Limited Issue...

they were for a "memory" type game if I recall. They were cheap, they were on perforated sheets (you know, tear them apart yourselves).

No big loss if you didn't get them, IMHO.

in the commentary they mention the CGI staircase, as well as the opening shot of the boat being CG. I have a feeling the "wedding barge" was also CGI as well as the coach Ariel and Eric ride around town in. You can usually spot the CG even if it is hand-inked like it was in TLM because it ...

don't forget that on BatB, Aladdin, TLK and possibly TLM - they did new animation for IMAX re-release (some actually came out, others did not) which included reanimating the small details that wouldnt' ahve looked so good on the big screen, fixing things up, etc. In BatB they inserted "human ag...

I would say it varies depending upon the needs of the production and the talent. I'm sure most of the stuff for Disney is recorded in a recording studio either at the disney studios, or somewhere in the LA area, but if they are using talent from another area, they might record it there - one example...

I know it's an old thread but just to add my $0.02... Disney's "morgue" is renowned for its depth of resources - Disney is the one studio with a reputation for saving EVERYTHING Animation is very expensive and time consuming to produce, so it is very rare that an animated sequence is ever ...

I don't think Alladin is in need of a restoration - any move that was made with CAPS (Rescuers Down Under, on) was colored and composited digitally, meaning it should all be as perfect and clean today as it was when it was first made... the "restoration" on Lion King and B&TB was for I...
