Found a short making of the commercial video, I think the animator Eric Goldberg is in part of it

What do you mean? He was used in Fantasmic, House of mouse, Kingdom Hearts, and now this. what else do you want? more representation in the parks?PatrickvD wrote:Is that Hades? I'm surprised Disney even remembers who he is. Since Hercules has pretty much disappeared alltogether.
Short of making another Hercules sequel I'm not sure what else they can do.

Re-release and give Hercules the DVD/BluRay it Deserves!!!

Disney Villains Animated Halloween Commercial
Yes, this was really, really great of Disney to do!
Wonderful except for only two things:
The shading and lighting really is just a little too much, making them look not just CGI but also like their made up pieces of paper that cast shadows.
And they need special effects when they transform, as they did in the films. You can't magically transform without magic, in the form of something like the green smoke Maleficent and the Queen both had in their films.

Actually that bugged me too. I guess the "insta-morph" thing worked better for such a short commercial though. Special effects may not have worked well in such a short space of time and could have ended up looking cheesy. Had it been longer I would have loved to see it though.Disney Duster wrote: And they need special effects when they transform, as they did in the films. It didn't really bug me, though it doesn't make sense for the Queen to insta-morph, as she didn't even drink anything before she transformed. Would've been cooler to see her take a shot of the green potion, make a face, pound her fist on a bar a couple times and go "Aauggh!" then feel refreshed and magical, imagining a Green Fairy that looks like Kylie Minogue is singing "The Sound of Music" to her.candydog wrote:Actually that bugged me too. But then some parent will say, "Hey, she's drinking absinthe! Disney's promoting alcohol!" and then the commercial gets pulled or changed for being controversial.
