XD Oh, that thing was funny! So, um... does she or doesn't she? Ursula, that is... singing the song just like the movie, that is. From what I can hear, she doesn't take the role in the way I would have liked. I don't want clone of the movie, but there are certain bits of the character I expect to be...

Re: Representation of Women in Disney fuilms.

And magic, I'm sure some feminist would criticize: "Oh sure, men will do the cooking, sewing, and cleaning, but not of their own accord/ability or not without lots of help!" I'm not so sure about that. I wonder how a man would be helped by animals. Would he sing to them? Would it be done ...

Well, I'd actually love another Sleeping Beauty, but I could do without that whole "flop at the box office that gets appreciated some decades later" aspect! (Which is what you were referring to, I assume XD) So... I'm guessing they got rid of the Reverse-Enchanted bit? Is sounds like it. I...

To quote a stupid ad campaign: I just do! (I'm glad that Apple Jacks now acknowledges the fact that it's made with apples now) Yeah, there is an element of the story that's a little forced family values, but it's also the cute non-epic film it was made to be. It's a fun watch, and twisted people lik...

Hey, and the animation test finally has audio!

"And second... I don't believe in magic."

Her look feels really Giselle-y to me. I hope her personality stands out enough.

It wasn't enough to make me walk out the theater or be in a bad mood the rest of the film, but I really hated the "peanut" joke, too. In fact, I really, really don't see why it had to be in the film to begin with and what purpose it served. The audience really more moaned and chuckled ligh...

Oh, hey, it's the second star to the right! Well, while I'm not the hugest fan of it, there is an odd tear jerker quality to it when the "When You Wish Upon a Star" music really kicks in. In addition to this, it's had a variety of uses. When combined with 3D it is pretty impressive and a g...

Well, judging as a customer and recipient of the product... he was good, and then he turned sour. I can tell because the product turned sour. Now it tastes better. Nobody can be good for everything for always. He was present for huge growth, but maybe that growth was a bit too big (like how nothing ...

I wasn't saying the Pagan themes were bad thing. I was just saying that, since it's interesting to note them existing alongside an anti-Catholic sentiment, considering history. Wow, I must live on an island (I do, actually XD). I went to Catholic school and as far as I could tell we were totally coo...

I heard it was specifically an anti-Catholic edge (and, of course, Catholics and Protestants have long been at odds with each other before recent years). Although I'm not familiar with the story, it does sound like it has some pagan elements. (Funny, I remember hearing that some of those names were ...

"Ariel's Beginning" sounds kind of lame, but I prefer that sort of title to the kind with numbers on it. I wish all the cheapquels had titles like that so we didn't have to be in so much denial of the ones we didn't like being part of canon. Of course, since we have a II, perhaps we should...

The second time I saw the movie, I kept my eye out for those things. You can just barely make them out.

Does this mean he ate them all?! O_o

He strips them down before eating them....

I still don't approve of the "spiky" nature of the tentacles, but I do like that particular dress. She actually looks like she should be in an aquatic version of Gone With the Wind in that shot XD

Exactly how is Ariel's tail different now?

The Three Caballeros is lively and colourful in instances, and muddy and dirty in others. Needs a restoration. Would the "muddy and dirty" parts happen to be the parts involving humans and animated backgrounds? I was thinking about those scenes while watching the DVD. Before blue screen t...

I think at first it was just cutting, but I think now it's a combination of both.

Yeah, he's Jim Crow. There's a joke about him in the Mortimer Koon Golden Age short. I burst out laughing at that bit. I'm such a geek XD

i don't think it should be included in the film on the platinum edition. i DO think it should be included on the dvd. i can't believe nobody (or at least, not in the first half of these posts, i stopped reading like a third of the way) thought of putting it on the dvd as a bonus feature. they could...

There were "PC Police" even back then, if you can believe that. They were concerned about the crows in Dumbo. She could easily be a little sister if she didn't look so much like a black stereotype. She's a horse (or, rather, donkey) of a different color, to make a bad joke. I'm focusing on...

Actually, I liked that The Little Mermaid still had a little grain. Grain is a part of film, and The Little Mermaid was the last film to use cels. I wanted it to keep that cel animated film "look" and I was glad that it still looked like it was animated with hand painted cels and film came...
