Does anyone know what this edition is compared to the old "Carl Barks Library"? I believe it is mostly just an American version of "The Collected Works of Carl Barks" that is currently being published in Scandinavia and Germany. It contains new articles by Geoffrey Blum. The col...

Re: What's your beef with "Native American"?

Speak for yourself... my ancestors have been in North America long enough for me to call myself a native of the region. Earth is a ridiculously tiny & isolated world, so it's rather stupid of us to get caught up in all this petty, nationalistic, & ethnocentric garbage. We're all native to t...

The only catch is that you can only order it as part of a boxed set, the Disney Classics Collection with Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Make Mine Music, Melody Time, and Ichabod & Mr. Toad. Next year, on March 21, the titles will be available to buy individually. Axel music appears to ha...

It appears that it is the uncensored version. The running time is listed as 75 minutes whereas the region release is listed as 67 minutes.

Package films collection

Just found a new boxset coming in Denmark in november containing five of the "package films". None of these have been released here before so I'm really looking forward to it. I had heard they where coming but didn't know until now that they would come in a single box. The only one missing...

BUT, Don Rosa have never published any date for Scrooge McDuck's death, but he has made a fan drawing of the old Duck family gathered on Scrooge's grave and there it reads that he died in 1967 (wich is the same year as Barks retiered). I remember that drawing now. I always thought of it as Don Rosa...

This is a little change of direction for this topic, but I thought it would fit in good. I bought widescreen Star Wars at Wal-Mart on Tuesday. Wednesday I was in there again and noticed they were completely out of widescreen (silver box) but had tons of fullscreen (gold box) sets still. It's things...

the proper aspect ratio in the French set is the only difference with the UK's Phew! In that case I'm happy as I don't like the zoomed in UK edition and this seems to be the only way to get the OAR in PAL format... Just checked my order status and both DVDs are on their way to me from France. I'll ...

I wonder if the added song will be by the original voice actors. On the soundtrack, the song is done by some stars, and the background instruments are very different from the rest of the songs on the movie. I hope that the song is done by the people from the film instead of the alternate stars and ...

This just proves something we've known all along. Norwegians LOVE Elijah Wood! But shouldn't the Danish be even more into the LOTR films than Norwegians? They must all love Viggo Mortensen. Could anyone produce similar statistics for Denmark? Well I don't have any figures to back it up but th...

Re: Why does Disney threat the rest of europe worse than Fra

Wat I read France gets better Covers with a lot of movies, and now with Brother Bear the France Version have the aspect ratio of 2.35.1 with the aspect ratio change like in the cinema. the Benelux version(and Uk if I'm Right) got a 1.66 aspect ratio. There are other European countries, like the Sca...

Wow. I got a surprise today when I got confirmation that my treasure sets have been shipped to me. I have no idea why they are sending now and not in two weeks but I am not complaining :)
Unfortunately it will take 4-10 days for them to arrive.

Re: Mickey vs Donald

I think that Donald is the most popular of the two in a lot of European countries, certainly here in Denmark. Mickey has for me somehow always appeared as filler in the weekly Donald magazines.
And certainly no Mickey comics have ever been as good as the ones with Donald by Carl Barks and Don Rosa.

Just my personnel opinion but that could in no way live up to the movie's soundtrack. It may be better live but this is probably not something I'll listen to again.

Actually the R2 dvds seem to be pretty consistent: 'Special edition' contains an altered film while 'collector's editions' are the 2 disc versions. This means Beauty and the Beast is called a 'Special Edition, 2 Disc Collector's Edition' :)
