The original Day The Earth Stood Still is amazing as well. Simply stunning.

The Blu Ray comes with a DVD so I don't understand what they aren't getting a chance to review? Disc 2 of the DVD, which does NOT come with the BD. (Sorry for repeating myself again, just answering the question) :) Yes. But again, you don't need to read a DVD specific review to know what the extras...

Re: The Review Argument.

Just read a review for the Blu-Ray, and assume your DVD is going to be less impressive.

Done.

You completely miss the point. How in the heck can the reviewer review the ENTIRE set when they are only given half of it. The point you are making about never reviewing the PQ and AQ of the bonus features is IRRELEVANT. They still comment on what they are, and whether they are informative, etc. Ag...

Such as, in this case, not providing DVD copies to reviewers in spite of DVD being the dominant formant. And there is a DVD included. Of the movie. There, now it can be reviewed. And then things like leaving the Art Gallery off of the 2-disc DVD of Bolt (according the the press release) so it can b...

Only the T2 pics work for me....

But damn, I didn't know the T2 release looked that nice. Can't wait for the new version.

Is this site anti-blu? Don't know, but this was compiled at Blu-Ray.com: ---- The following are recent snippets from UD.com reviews and news stories: "In a move displaying the studio's desperation for indifferent audiences to warm to Blu-ray, Disney has changed plans for the concurrent high-de...

This forum is far from anti-Blu-ray. You could have fooled me. Seems like everytime there's something mentioned regarding Blu-Ray the complainers come out in force. Ultimate Disney is even a butt of jokes on most Hi-Def websites because of it. Disc prices are not comparable at all. New releases are...

The main reasons are its too expensive and DVD is good enough. Imagine if the world did that for everything. Well, a horse is good enough. Who needs a car. Well, wax cylinders are good enough. Who needs better. Well, black and white is good enough. Who needs color. Well, silent films are good enoug...

David S. wrote:The difference between DVD and VHS was HUGE to my eyes. I honestly don't notice much if any difference between Blue Ray and DVD.
I'd honestly suggest a vision test then. Or at least an HD TV. Cause there's a huge difference.

And again, it's Blu-Ray.

I'm on the reviewer's side. DVD is by far the dominant format & I don't like a company trying to shove a blu ray down my throat by not allowing me to get a review IN ADVANCE of its release date. Its like not making a movie available ahead of time to movie reviewers (although that is usually don...

That is hardly the same thing and you know it! Those are all obsolete or fringe formats. Blue Ray may be "the future", but whether you like it or not, DVD is still the DOMINANT format and therefore THE NOW . And therefore it is unacceptable if reviewers are not able to review the format t...

Geez, I don't want a review copy! I am buying this. I want people who REVIEW DVDs for us, their readers, to be able to get their review copy. And it is IRREVELANT if "Disc 1" of the DVD is included with the Blue Ray, as the person who wrote the article pointed out. Without Disc 2, they wo...

Why do you think you are entitled to a Review copy anyway? Those are supposed to be for legitimate movie review people who work in the industry. Why not just wait until Tuesday and buy your own copy like the rest of us. :D Bingo. Seems like the lady is just too cheap to buy her own copy. So I'm not...

The_Iceflash wrote:I agree. There's absolutely no reason for them to eliminate DVD review copies when it still is the dominate format by a long run. It's a premature move.
And again, there's a DVD copy of the film included.

And it's hardly a premature move. And is being done for a number of reasons.

You're missing my point. I am not interested in reading a review of the Blue Ray. I am interested in a review of the DVD! Well... Disc 1 of the DVD version is included in the Blu-Ray as a bonus. So I guess you'll either have to make do with that getting reviewed.. Or wait til someone on the forums ...

Good for Disney!

Seems that everytime they send out screeners, the movie gets pirated before the day is out.

Blu-Ray is the future, and the adoption rates are growing more and more every day.

Sounds like this woman is just pissed cause she'll have to buy her DVD copy instead of getting a free one.

People should also not hold their breath for the release of SB. It'll probably be a identical to the 2003 edition. I have no problem with that. Considering I somehow missed the 2003 Sleeping Beauty. And this 5 years later, so I don't see what the big deal is if they re-release it now. It's not like...
