Re: Zootopia 2

The performance is very surprising. I would not have expected Zootopia 2 to have performed better than Inside Out 2 last year even in the best case scenario. It'll be carrying Hoppers this year, too. I expect TS5 won't be an outright flop, but it more than likely will be a downturn from 4. How big o...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

Maybe because Disney is promo-ing them as part of Black History Month on Disney+. They often display certain films at the top in accordance with holidays. I suppose they're promoting TP&TF for the Princess line boost and this as a sideway promotion for the flop TV series, otherwise they'd be pro...

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

Well, a lot of anime has fighting scenes. To me, they aren't too different from the climactic villain defeating scenes at the end of Disney films, just in an episode format. I watched ItW again and I actually did like a lot of the costumes. The Witch's dress from when she has her beauty restored is ...

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

Yusuke's the main character from YuYu Hakusho.

I really can't remember much about any of the costumes from Into the Woods aside from Meryl Streep's. I pulled my Blu-ray out yesterday to watch soon to refresh my memory. I only watched the film once before.

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

I didn't love the whole thing, some parts / aspects I didn't care for, but a lot of good things. It's the first Shrek-related film I've liked since Shrek 2. Shrek 3, 4, and the first PiB are just terrible. The Donkey movie would be lucky if it's as good as it... Speaking of Perrito, I saw something ...

So sad. I hope she'll recover, go into remission. Keeping her in my prayers. :(

Interesting. Hope it's another musical show like Galavant, but maybe it's an animated series or possibly a one-off show like R&H's Cinderella?

Re: Tangled (& Tangled Ever After) Discussion: Part VII

Well, if they're smart--and they've mostly shown they are with the casting so far--and make the remake a faithful version of Tangled, then that could the perfect jumping off point for a Tangled musical. And maybe Susan Egan can play Gothel there. The first "princess" voice actor who also p...

Re: Hexed

Having watched Puss in Boots: One Last Wish now, I can see how both it and now KPOP Demon Hunters are being modeled for their current new properties. They said something recently about pursuing a more anime-esque look--obviously because of Demon Hunters' massive success. I know Wish's look felt like...

Re: Toy Story 5

I personally thought Inside Out 2 was well-done. Same with Zootopia 2--neither are quite as refined as their originals, but good in a more unexceptional way. Interesting that the poster has a similar arrangement to Lilo & Stitch's style of marketing just like Zootopia 2 did. I haven't looked at ...

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

I'm surprised they haven't announced the Gothel casting yet. Would've liked Cher, but she's probably impossible for this. I read some article that mentioned Helena Bonham-Carter and she would be alright. But I haven't heard her mentioned among the names actually being considered. Of the ones they've...

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

I don't recall most of the outfits in ItW besides Meryl Streep's--I remember I liked her first look, but not the later one. But, yeah, the dress they gave Helena Bonham Carter's Fairy Godmother was very pretty. Not shade really, but I always sort of wish they'd made Cinderella's dress in that film m...

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 6

The only one I hated was 3. 4 was quite bland though. I loved 1, 2, and 5. At least 5 had a good ending, but it's such a shame 6 isn't happening. I was really looking forward to the character reunion.

Can't say I'd have interest in a remake.

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

Really the only outfit I had any problem with in Aladdin was Aladdin's street rat outfit. Sort of similar to B&tB, the only outfit I had some issues with was Belle's basic blue dress. Re-watching SW the other day, I really only hated the Bandit outfits. I liked everything else more or less. Real...

Re: Eragon (TV Series)

Speaking as a member of that fandom, the mini-series is exactly what is needed--well, I think that's a strange word to use to discuss it. Nothing is ever "needed." They're just properties, not politicians making career moves. It's only a case of are they "wanted" and can they als...

Re: Moana (Live-Action)

SW was a remake of a Walt-era film--it was never a guaranteed success like the hits from the '90s onwards. Then it got hit by a racebend backlash just like TLM. If you look at TLM's result versus it's potential--it should've been an easy billion--the film lost 40% because of the racebend and other p...

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)

We knew it would blow its budget long before it got to release. The Walt-era properties have limited potential as remakes already (the best it could've expected was Cinderella-level, and Cinderella did half of most of the other remakes as it was), and then they decided to racebend the title characte...

Re: The Devil Wears Prada 2

The trailer for this one looks very good. Hard for me to see Emily Blunt's character going on to her own magazine though, but maybe rising further under Priestley. It would've been interesting to have Andy come back having done her own thing while Emily is still just an assistant and/or still under ...

Don't know them, so not sure what to make of any of it. I did feel there were some differences under Chapek (releases of the Rapunzel, Proud Family, and Chip n Dale series, or the Disney Princess line becoming more faithful to the characters, and doing more with them--allowing interactions, for exam...

Re: Eragon (TV Series)

I might watch this--like with PJ, once it's done (if it finishes). Eragon was never very good... I thought the movie of the first film was about as good as the book. How I'd rank the various fantasy novel series that come to mind that I've read would be: 1. Harry Potter 2. Lord of the Rings - 3. T.H...
