Good news between this and the Miss Piggy film.

Re: Tangled (Live-Action)

None of the actors they've picked or are looking at are perfect casts, imo, but at least generally fine. I hope they pick Paniz Rahnama over Hahn. A shame though they didn't pick Carpenter for Rapunzel since I know she was interested. Cher was probably unattainable, so I suppose I give them a pass f...

Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover

That Bonner has some gorgeous artwork. While Googling him, I saw another beautiful artwork (not sure if it's his or not) called the Ever Afterings that put together all the wedding dresses. So pretty! Just a shame Belle and Aurora didn't have them. See, putting together and/or comparing these kinds ...

Re: Rank The Frozen Franchise Properties

I haven't seen most of those new things aside from the musical and Once Upon a Studio (which I don't really think of as a Fozen media specifically). I enjoyed both.

Re: Alan Menken News & Discussion

I liked that he vaguely referenced the fact that he got so many Oscars angered some people... TBH, I think that had a role in Menken being pushed out during the Lasseter takeover, since I know Lasseter was chummy with the Oscar types in part because he wanted PIXAR to be popular with that crowd.

Re: Lilo & Stitch (Live-Action)

I don't think anyone forgets princess films aren't all WDAS has made... The Lion King, Dalmatians, Jungle Book, Bambi, Fantasia, and Dumbo were all massive and/or well-regarded masterpieces even before Lilo & Stitch and Zootopia came along. I wouldn't even say L&S and Zootopia are as far off...

Re: Mary Poppins Discussion

I received an e-mail from Degenhart Music the other day--they had released the full score sheet music for Cinderella--promoting what their next Disney release would be and it's going to be Mary Poppins.

Re: Zootopia 2

I saw a list of the top 10 grossing trilogies on another forum the other day and it occurred to me that the Zootopia and Frozen trilogies will most likely end up entering at around the #5 mark (knocking down LOTR, Deadpool, etc.) once the third film in each franchise releases. Moana and Encanto won'...

Re: Zootopia 2

I liked this more than anything since Encanto, I suppose. But I did like Wish, Strange World, and Moana 2 (in that order)--but none of them are what I'd call favorites, just around the 30's-40's range of the canon. I'm still not sure what to think about Hexed. I probably won't at all until after see...

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)

I think the disconnect with reviews is the inability for a lot of people to view anything separate from politics really. I admit it's very hard to take the commentary online towards Gadot seriously because it comes across as if it's not about her performance at all but because of her Israel connecti...

Re: Most anticipated Disney movie of 2025

The only Disney films I saw and enjoyed were L&S, Zootopia 2, and Snow White. SW had flaws, but I ended up enjoying the film (not surprised it was generally despised though). Zootopia 2 wasn't quite as good as I thought it could be, still good overall. Elio was...meh, pretty much what I expected...

Re: Percy Jackson and the Olympians (TV Series)

You're right. I think I watched a few episodes when it started, but didn't know it ever finished. A shame Netflix doesn't release things on Blu-ray, I would have more time to watch it that way, but at least it did get the full way through.

Re: Encanto

Good for Desperate Housewives. Not at all surprised by things like Law and Order or TGG. It will be amazing if/when Encanto 2 does a billion run considering how piddly the first film's performance was at the box office. But I'll be glad for it having that success, since I enjoyed the film. If so, En...

Re: Harry Potter (2026 on HBO)

I wonder how much the Netflix purchase could impact things. Hopefully not much, since the vast majority of characters are already cast by the time the deal goes through in late 2026. Only thing I'm worried about is the potential lack of blu-ray release now, since Netflix likes to lock things to stre...

Re: Percy Jackson and the Olympians (TV Series)

Saw the lead actor on Live With Kelly and Mark, he seemed completely overwhelmed. Nice guy anyway. I might eventually watch this in one go one day if they ever finish it. But I only read the book series the one time. Good, but not something I'd return to very often. As I recall, Sea of Monsters was ...

Why no PIXAR remakes and would you want them?

I've wondered for a while why there haven't been remakes of PIXAR films considering the money to be had (which we know is what drives Disney primarily). Josh O'Connor was recently on SNL joking about a Ratatouille remake. And now there are rumors that they may be beginning the (inevitable) Frozen re...

Re: Gaston (Live Action)

I'll see it. I would be more excited if Luke Evans was starring though, even if he's a little on the old side for a prequel. Hopefully it has music, but I doubt they'll allow Menken to come back. The company has some weird thing about him, including all the company shills I've happened across in dif...

Re: Zootopia 2

I thought it was okay. Not quite as good as I had hoped. I liked it quite a bit less than the first when it seemed like the type of property where the sequels could be even better than the first. But it was a solid movie. I thought it started off very shaky, can't put my finger on exactly why, ans g...
