The Disney Cheapquels vs. The Disney Fairies Franchise/Tinker Bell Movies

Considering how they`re both direct-to-video/DVD properties, I`m just curious. Which do you like better and why?

I always think of them being the same thing really. But I prefer the Cheapquels since I wasn't really a PP/Tinker Bell fan to be very interested in that series.

Alright, fair enough.

To be honest, I didn`t mind the cheapquels at first. But in my opinion, it was clear how they were becoming worse and worse when they suddenly became a whole plague. However, at least some of them are still some guilty pleasures of mine and there are some of that are better than others. But frankly, while I was never truly gaga for the Tinker Bell franchise, I still thought they were more honorable than the cheapquels as a whole. Since they were made with care, thought and flair.

The only good thing about the cheapquils for me was that it kept hand drawn animators paid and employed. I just wish they would have taken the opportunity to expand some of these studios into full blown feature animation studios. The Australian studio in particular (who handled brother bear 2, and lion king 1 1/2) deserved better. Give them a bigger budget, they could have done amazing things.

I didn't watch the tinkerbell movies, but I know they have a fan base, and at the very least it seemed like it didn't ruin the source material.
