Jerry Seinfeld?
I was watching Enchanted the other night and decided to check out the trailers. The Sleeping Beauty trailer had all new voices for the characters, and I swear, Jerry Seinfeld is doing the voice of Prince Phillip! Listen very carefully to it! After having watched Jerry and the gang for over 10 years,...

Corbin Bleu? Isn't that a chicken dish?
You know, all this talk about Corbin Bleu is making me hungry. Since when do they have a chicken dish going a music video? I don't know about you, but I'd rather eat some Chicken Corbin Bleu than listen to it sing.

Lady & the Tramp cameo in Dalmations!
I've seen 101 Dalmations something like two dozen times over the decades and never noticed something unique until I popped in the platinum disc. There's a cameo from "Lady and the Tramp!" Check out the scene where the dogs in the pet shop are howling. As the shot opens, we see several dogs...

Sleeping Beauty trailer on Dalmations!
I, too, watched the Sleeping Beauty trailer on the Dalmations DVD--and there's something unusual about it. For some reason, Disney replaced all the original voices! That's definitely not Maleficent's voice, and I also think the fairies are different. They did the same thing for the Cinderella traile...

Sword in the Stone unsuccessful? Balderdash!
I was a ten year old kid during the Christmas season of 1963, and you can bet that Sword in the Stone was on my "must-see" movie list! In fact, I saw it three times, and the theater was completely packed...so I don't know where anyone would get the idea that it wasn't successful. As a &quo...

Ugh!
You guys actually like this look? Gigantic eyes, a thin mouth, and that goofy smile? Sorry, but I expect something a bit more from my Disney heroines. This girl reminds me of Sara Gilbert from "Roseanne!"

How could The Black Hole flop? Easy!
The Black Hole may have made back its budget, but for a Christmas release--what is commonly referred to as a "tentpole picture" for a major studio--it had disappointing returns at the box-office. Especially considering that three previous science fiction films (Star Wars; Close Encounters,...

The Black Hole--an interesting experiment!
The late 1970's early 80's was an intriguing time in Disney's history. Their animated films were no longer the blockbusters of Walt's day, and their live action had lost its audience. So, they began experimenting with more sophisticated themes. That's when we saw The Black Hole; TRON; Something Wick...

Expressions in Cinderella!
:) I actually think the stepmother says "the pear-shaped tones" to the stepsisters before they sing. "Pear-shaped tones" basically means that they should pronounce their words correctly. And how do I know this? From the special edition of "Singing in the Rain!" There's ...

Get out your dictionary!
Gee, DVDJunkie, I wonder if you really know what the word "drivel" means, since you obviously don't know how to even spell it correctly. And studying a film sequence frame by frame is hardly an example of somebody getting their "kicks," as you so eloquently put it. Given such log...

Cinderella's nice touches and mistakes!
Just got finished watching the Platinum Cinderella and have a few observations: (1) The restoration is absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen the print looking so good--the Technicolor literally reaches out and grabs you. (2) It was great seeing Cindy in DVD format, because that way I can move through...

What about THIS idea!
Since we're tossing around "what ifs," how about this idea? Disney and MGM get together and make a gorgeously animated (using classic animation, not CGI) version (not remake) of the MGM Judy Garland masterpiece? It would be very easy to take ALL the vocals from the original film and use th...

Isn't it obvious? Fairy tales!
It's obvious to me that Disney could regain its true greatness by mining the cashe of fairy tales it has yet to explore completely. Why make films of such questionable material as "Tarzan," "Hercules," and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," when there are soooo many fairy t...

DisneyKid, isn't Tarzan calling you?
So, DisneyKid, it's all about money, huh? And that's the only reason why something's included as a Platinum? Well, according to your friend Jayden, "Robin Hood" was an incredibly successful animated post-Walt hit. Using your logic, it would be a shoe-in for a Platinum. But guess what? It's...

Robin Hood a classic? LOL!
DisneyKid, despite your protestations, Robin Hood is NOT a classic film. Believe me, if the Disney organization held it in high regard --the same regard as Cinderella and Song of the South--you'd see it getting the Platinum treatment. It isn't. Nuff said.

Interesting!
Ha! I find it very telling that Jayden so haughtily informs us that he/she's studying Law, all the while throwing classic book titles out and asking "do you even know what those last books are?" Such blather! Methinks said Jayden needs to chill out and take a little of his/her own advice: ...

Oh, yeah, one more thing, Jayden!
The very fact that you'd list "Cinderella" and "Dumbo" as unworthy of the Platinum treatment shows me your level of sophistication is caught somewhere between The Three Stooges and The Family Guy. But you think "Robin Hood" is more worthy? Whoa!

Not care about Oscar? Get real!
Maybe you "don't care" what songs Oscar deems worthy, but you can bet that Walt most certainly did (during his lifetime), and the Disney organization puts MILLIONS into Oscar campaigns. So whether you "care" or not, having Oscar affiliated with a film immediately increases box of...
