Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
Taking a role in a tv show that happens to have a diverse cast is considered a political act? :eyebrow: Moana was a one time thing, she has to, you know, continue working. I have no idea what your issue with this other than the fact that you seem upset about a show embracing diversity. Yikes. The m...

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
Either way, the point of this post was to bring to light that Disney stars already have enough problems with the rehab over drugs, alcohol and sex. Do we REALLY need politics on top of that? And if you are saying "are you implying that getting very political is just as bad as drunk driving and ...

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
All sides have their violent protestors, unless the Disney stars are the ones being violent it shouldn't be a problem. You're painting everyone for one cause (which ones are we even talking about here?) with the same brush just because of a few bad apples? I put all human beings as one because we c...

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
Are these Disney stars being violent? Are they encouraging people to be violent? They may not be violent, but they are helping the matter by agreeing with the values of the protesters. To me, you can be non-violent but still agree with cause. And most of these political stuff seem to agree with one...

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
That's nonsense. Those who believe in impossible things make the most change. Being resigned (and silent) doesn't help anyone. But only in things that are "universal truth." LGBT for example, is not considered universal truth yet otherwise they wouldn't be brutally murdered in Asian count...

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
I agree. Silence is what got us to this point--the moral cowardice of some refusing to call out racism and evil for what they are out of political expediency allowed monsters like Trump to thrive. I’m glad more people are refusing to be silent now. I'm not stating this to be pro-Trump, but the viol...

Re: Child/Teen stars more political than previous generation
Would you prefer them instead spiraling out of control a la Britney, Lindsay, Miley, because it almost sounds like you think that is a better alternative than them having political views and endorsing those views to make a change. I'm not a big fan of the current crop of Disney stars but they are m...

Child/Teen stars more political than previous generations.
I have noticed that some child stars, the Disney ones especially, are mentioning their politics more than ever before. While there is nothing wrong with having a political stance, this is coming across as spoon-fed information syndrome, unoriginal, and predictable (especially with how Hollywood is)....

Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion
You know what my problem is with this film? The comments I see on FB and DVDizzy forum. No no, not about the boycott's that were called, that you can have a give or take attitude about that situation. No, what my problem is the extremely forced good reviews everyone is giving the film. I'm sorry, bu...

Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion
Let me make this clear. We are not going to know how this film will do over the weekend. The ONLY reason people and the media are thinking this might be a billion dollar film is because once you pledge your allegiance to money and politics, you do not see the wars of this world. Other countries alwa...

Re: Disney films that should join the signature collection.
But the revival films are not old enough to join the collection. When Beauty and the Beast joined the Platinum edition, it was already 10 years old. So lets wait until the 2020s to see which will stand the test of time the best. Fantasia is still part of the Disney canon either way. It's not like To...

Disney films that should join the signature collection.
Thus far, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Beauty and the Beast have joined the collection. It is a pretty safe bet that Pinocchio , Bambi , Cinderella , Peter Pan , Lady and the Tramp , Sleeping Beauty , 101 Dalmatians , The Jungle Book , The Little Mermaid , Aladdin and The Lion King will join ...

Re: Disney's Bolt is NOT part of the Revival Era
Another thing to remember is a shelf life of a Disney film. While Bolt has a fan base, the film seems to be forgotten by many Disney fans. Even The Princess and the Frog has more attention than this film. I can see why Bolt is not as beloved as many Disney films. It is rather...ordinary. Nothing rea...

Re: Disney's Bolt is NOT part of the Revival Era
I would agree that Bolt is a transitional film, same with Meet the Robinsons. Both films represent Disney experimenting with what they could do for a new generation of families. But that also proves my point with Bolt not being part of the Revival era. Between 2000 to 2008, that era in Disney Animat...

Disney's Bolt is NOT part of the Revival Era
While Bolt did get some acclaim, as time went on people realized this was a Truman Show/Homeward Bound knock off and forgettable. What makes a film memorable in a "Strong" period of filmmaking is what is presented. The Disney Revival has unique films that have stood out. An African America...

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
I wonder, if they go to the underworld. Should they do the "King's of Darkness" like what they did with the "Queen's of Darkness?" So, not only will we have Hades, but how about Jafar and Dr. Facilier? That way Aladdin, Hercules and The Princess and the Frog get in the story line.

Re: Does Disney Hate Wreck It Ralph and Big Hero 6?
Pretty much the "princess" factor. True. However, are Fantasia, Pinocchio, Bambi, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and the Tramp, Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh, The Lion King, Tarzan and Lilo & Stitch part of the "princess factor?" All Disney animat...
