That's totally random. It's nothing like seasons' 1-5 box art. It'll stand out and I'd prefer it if they were a little consistant with their box art. All in all, I don't like it.

I am with Pasta. While packaging is never my biggest concern I would like it to be consistent.

It looks like its made up of that inflatable stuff that you blow in, like beach balls, except painted yellow

Well, if you want, you can always create from scratch your own DVD packaging to store season six so that it has consistant box art with the other seasons.

Yup I could create my own, I don't have much talent but I can do that and get it printed with cardboard and all and for free. :P I just might.

I'm not too upset about this although I do prefer that they kept with one design. I always worry whether or not companies will just suddenly change packaging to something cheaper or just plain ugly. Disney changed the Treasures a bit... hopefully they won't lose the tins.

There are two things I don't think would work about that.
1. Couldn't you be sued? Or is that just if you sell it with the artificial packaging and say it's the real thing?
2. We don't know how the discs will be packaged, so we don't know if it would fit in the 1-5 seasons' packaging.

Ah you can get into trouble with copyright issues and I could run into trouble with the packaging but I think I could get away with it. It's just for myself and you can get away with creating your own artwork easier than scanning/photocopying and printing existing artwork although I haven't run into any problems doing that either. The most they could do I believe if youa re at a place like Staples is tell you to stop and leave.

I like buying and not copying but I have let a friend or two burn and copy. It's not legal but I don't want them to borrow. :P

Yeah, I hate this box art! It's totally going to look weird on the shelf. I wonder if they're going to do the other main character's heads now for the rest of the seasons?

According to TVShowsonDVD.com they will be doing the rest of the familt for seasons 7-10.

Take a look...

Well, here's an idea: Maybe they'll do a different packaging design every five seasons. That's a little more consistant, right? I'm still holding out for a Groundskeeper Willy box art, though. It'll happen someday!

Yeah that's what I was thinking they could do. I won't get too huffy and puffy over it since it is nice looking packaging.

Slightly off-topic since it doesn't deal with packaging...

I hope they release all episode of Treehouse of Horror in one DVD set when the show is over. I know all the episodes will be in season sets but I would love all of those themed episodes in one set so I can watch them all together instead of watching an episode on one disc and then another on another disc. Laziness? Yeah partly but it would be cool to have that kinda set.
If they had kept the packaging the same they could have had a spiffy black cover.

Cool Cover Art, But I Think They Should Release Two Versions, One With The Regular Packaging and One With Homer's Head.

I love this idea... it looks great! I wish they would have been doing this from day one, though. I'm a little more ok with packaging designs being in sets of five, but when all the seasons are released, it would be nice to see a little uniform army arranged on my shelf. Oh well- at least the show is great! :P

I still need to get season 5. I've been too busy with other DVDs lately. Hmmm, season 5's been out for a while. If I was able to get the Back to the Future trilogy for $25, maybe season 5's price has decreased.
