The Fox and the Hound OOP?

No copies directly are being sold on Amazon.co.uk, so I checked Sendit.com, and although they are selling copies left in stock, apparently, the title has been deleted since May 3rd! Could this mean that a new edition may be getting released soon?

Well yes, most stores such as HMV were having a "Let's get rid of all copies of The Fox and the Hound" mad hour a few months ago, and I knew it was out of print.

The Fox and the Hound was one of the movies on my "Good chance of getting upgraded soon" list. However as the UK DVD of The Fox and the Hound" was better than the R1 DVD to start with, i don't really see much in the way of an upgrade just yet. It is highly possible that it could just get rereleased exactly just like Dumbo, as they were released originally on the same day, so it seems likely FatH could be ready for another outing.

It is possible we will see an SE of The Fox and the Hound, however I would say it would early 2006 at the earliest before it gets an upgraded treatment.

Hope so! :D
Fox And The Hound is one of those movies that pop up now again on the Disney Channel and its always a movie that i really like and i always find people forget about it (like i always do). I was hoping to get round to buying it soon, but with the possibility of there being an upgraded version coming soon i think i may wait for that.

I got mine about 2 months ago. I can't see a special edition being of THAT much interest unless they can clean up the film majorly (because the quality is nearer that of a video). I'd say the Dumbo-style re-release would be more likely, I'm not sure that it's a big, well known enough 'classic' to draw in enough new viewers to warrant a re-release.

I´ll wait this possible SE too! :D

I have the first DVD, but if they do a treatment as they did with Bambi, I think I´ll sell the old one and buy the new one :)

A new release is just the reason I was waiting for to buy this! It was quite clear that if a sequel will come it would have a chance of a SE. I'd be content even with something along the lines of Winnie the Pooh 25th Anniversary release!

I kinda doubt that Disney will release this as a 2-disc SE... It has never been one of their MAJOR classics, so I doubt it...

Well it doesnt have to be a 2 disc and i doubt it will. It will probably be more along the lines of Dumbo.

Well I could very well see "The Fox and the Hound" getting a 2 Disc, just for saleability reasons! I mean look at "The Lion King II" or "The Lion King 1.5" both of them had 2 discs, and there was absolutely nothing on them, but the fact they had 2 discs would have made them more attractive.

Also in all fairness "Alice in Wonderland" ME was exactly fulled to the brim either, so a 2 disc set is a fair possibility IMO.
