What tv show should I get on dvd next?
I'm trying to decide if I want to get Full House, Fresh Prince of BelAir or Bewitched ( which comes out on Tuesday).
Does anyone have the first two and could tell me if they are good releases or not?
Any other suggestions for tv shows on dvd? Does anyone know if any shows will be on sale next week?

Well, I'd personally suggest I Love Lucy or 7th Heaven. However, the latter is one those shows when you love it or you hate it. I know very few people who are in the middle about it.
Out of that list, I'd settle for Bewitched. I was planning to buy it, but my dad said to wait for the later seasons with Dick Sargent (apparently Dick II was a better actor than Dick I). It depends on you though. What are your tastes in television?

Hi
I am planning on buying Bewitched, I suggest that you do the same.
Nothing beats. Samantha, Darrin, Endora, Tabitha, Serena, Maurice, Aunt Clara.

One thing to consider is that Full House and Fresh Prince come with bonus DVDs that have 2 episodes from other Warner Bros. television shows on them (at least they did when they first came out- I don't know if that was a limited-time thing or not... but the front of the packaging will have a sticker saying they are included if they are).
Of the 3 you've named, I only have Full House. The other two are high-up on my most-wanted list. FH is a great release. You can check out the "What Complete Season Did You Just Watch?" thread for my thoughts on it.
But if you get Bewitched... be sure you get the B&W version!

I respectfully disagree.chaychay102royal wrote:Out of that list, I'd settle for Bewitched. I was planning to buy it, but my dad said to wait for the later seasons with Dick Sargent (apparently Dick II was a better actor than Dick I). It depends on you though. What are your tastes in television?

For a while, Nick@Nite would only play episodes with the original Darren. I don't know if that's still the policy.

I might buy the first season anyway just to see the pilot episode and how different the show got to be as characters were added (Tabitha didn't come until the second season, no?)and I'll probably buy later seasons as they're released (although I read in a book that later on in the show they often repeated the same storylines)and compare the Darrens and writing.

I say go with Bewitched. I find it to be the best show of the three, and it comes with a free ticket to see the new film with Nicole Kidman, if you're interested in seeing it. Like Aaron said, if you pick it, go with the black and white one. The colorized version looks hideous (I've seen re-runs of it on TV). I, too, have to disagree with your dad. Dick York was a much better Darrin than Dick Seargant. In fact, I probably will only buy the season sets with York (aka Darrin #1) in them. The show seemed to go downhill after he left, anyway.

Of all the shows mentioned so far Taxi is the best followed by Cheers.
As far as the original question the first season of Fresh Prince was excellent. Some of the later ones were not good at all. Bewitched was also good but I might wait for the colour ones. Dr. Bombay was the best.
I am with Timon Full House was one of the worst shows ever.

Full House was everything that was wrong with TGIF rolled into one sickeningly sappy package. I liked Family Matters and Perfect Strangers, but Full House would send me into a sugar coma. And I was only 9 then.Mr. Toad wrote:Of all the shows mentioned so far Taxi is the best followed by Cheers.

You should get Bewitched since it has a free ticket to see the movie remake Bewitched! (that's a very good reason to buy that TV show, I think!Disney Lover wrote:I'm trying to decide if I want to get Full House, Fresh Prince of BelAir or Bewitched ( which comes out on Tuesday).

Well, Aaron put it very nicely about Full House. I own two of them and I think they are good releases (and wish they can continue on to Season 2, dammit!Does anyone have the first two and could tell me if they are good releases or not?

When you ask this, you gotta tell us your taste in TV!Any other suggestions for tv shows on dvd?

They usually come up and go. Like last week or two weeks ago, Target put Simpsons Season 5 for $29.99. They just...randomly do it. You gotta check your sunday ads for the internet for those sales.Does anyone know if any shows will be on sale next week?
