A title I would kill for....

Post by Kenai »

Well, not really..but a title I would SO love to own on Disney DVD, isn't even a movie, but a TV show, Darkwing Duck!!!!

For the life of me, I can't understand why Disney's ignored some of the properties, that back in the good old days, helped shape up animation and put them on the map, shows like Talespin and Bonkers, etc etc. Mind you, they did get good Walt Disney Home Video releases back in the early 90's. But why not bring them over to Disney DVD now to be enjoyed by the new generation? Darkwing Duck was my hero when I was little, and the only way I have to remember him is on the old videos Disney released.

In fact, that's the only thing that makes me mad at Disney right now is not releasing these shows to DVD. Although they did get props for FINALLY releasing Gargoyles.

Anyone in agreement?

Darkwing rocked my socks back in the day! He still remains one of my favorite Disney characters of all time (I seem to have this weird thing for males with big egos).

I think the fact that Gargoyes has been released is a good sign, and so is the fact that the DuckTales movie is being planned for a DVD release.

I think it's only a matter of time; Disney *has* to realize that the DA titles are gonna make money with a minimal amount of effort on their part.

BTW, please don't take this the wrong way. . . it might be a good idea to go back and edit Darkwing's name into the subject of this thread before somebody gets on your case about it (subject lines need to be descriptive).

I was a big fan too as a kid. The series had great storylines, like Ducktales.

I haven’t seen Darkwing Duck in years!! I too would love a DVD of the show. Even better would be a Disney Afternoon box set. Heck right now I would even settle for Toon Disney re-runs!!

Yeah, I agree that Disney has ignored too many beautiful tvshows. These are some of the shows I'd likt to have on DVD:

1)Aladdin-the series
2)The Little Mermaid-the series
3)Hercules-from Zero to Hero
4)DuckTales
5)Talespin
6)Darkwind Duck
7)Quack-Pack!
8)Bonkers
9)Goof Troop
10)Gargoyles
11)Timon and Pumbaa
12)Tarzan-The Legend

It is a SHAME that beautiful episodes from The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, are together in ridiculous Princess dvds!!! What if I want to buy the WHOLE series from the Little Mermaid APART from the Aladdin series??? IS THERE NO CHANCE TO GET THE COMPLETE SERIES OF MY FAVOURITE SHOWS???? Well I'll never buy that Princess dvds to have some episodes of my favourite shows, I think giving them money for sthing like that it's a shame! It was such a good chance to release the Aladdin series the same time the special edition of Aladdin came out! Such a pitty! It's UNFAIR!

Patience is a virtue, my dears.

Disney has released many shows: Alias already has three seasons out and Lost and Desperate Housewives are coming in September. Those aren't the shows you want, though. They're still Disney shows... :D

I feel ya there, that's probably the only thing that's angering me about Disney at the moment (and maybe the whole teenybopper extras on the newer DVD's lately).

Yay, I'm not the only one wanting Tarzan: The Legend to come out.

But another series I'd like on DVD is Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. It brings back so many memories of waking up early everyday in the summer and watching it. :D

Who cares about all the trashy Disney animated TV series? (Obviously a lot of the youngsters who post in this forum do.)

Titles I would kill for on DVD are some of the classic movies from Walt's era:
Westward Ho The Wagons! - in it's original CinemaScope ratio
Rob Roy The Highland Rogue
Tonka
Kidnapped
Moon Pilot
The Incredible Journey
The Shaggy Dog

And reissues of the following in widescreen (uncropped) versions:
Son of Flubber
The Gnome-Mobile
Follow Me, Boys!
Greyfriars Bobby
Savage Sam
The Moon-Spinners

My opinion completely, Poppins.
