Walt Disney Classic Cartoon Favorites

Post by Alan »

Does anybody here have Walt disney classic cartoon favorites? They are a lot cheeper than walt disney treasures, but I want to buy these DVDs. There are DVD for Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale, etc. And isn't Walt Disney Treasures just a collection of cartoons also?

I don't have any of the Cartoon Classic Favourites as of now, as they do seem a bit of a waste of money considering that I have some of the Treasure sets. Not all Treasure sets are cartoons; some of them are old Disney programming to do with things such as Disneyland, however, the majority are and they contain almost all the classic Disney shorts (for example, I have both Mickey in Colour DVD sets, meaning that I have all colour Mickey cartoons), so having DVDs that repeat material one has already got is just a waste. However, as a number of these sets are already out of print in Region 1 (which I believe is where you are from), if you want Disney shorts on DVD and don't want to pay mega prices for copies on E-Bay with the Walt Disney Treasures, the Cartoon Classic Favourites are the way to go. Plus, the Chip and Dale edition may be of some value at least as there are no Chip and Dale shorts ever brought out on DVD at the moment aside from this.

I buy the Classic Cartoon Favorites because I don't own the treasures. It'd be ridiculous to duplicate eh? ;) I don't have a reason why I don't collect the treasures (Maybe I'm not a BIG BIG BIG Disney fan...)

I like the Classic Cartoon Favorites. I'll be purchasing 5-7 next week with Tarzan II! Alan, Best Buy has them on 'sale': 2 for $15 (check the front page but you'll need a credit card though). My favorite are the Donald shorts and Chip & Dale shorts! :D

I say it's worth owning if you don't have the treasures.

Alan, for goodness sake, use the Search option and clearer titles, please. This forum has several thousand informative posts and every time a new thread is made on a well-discussed topic such as this, then people will simply repeat what's already been said and the already-contributed insight gets lost. This is certainly not the first time someone else or I have encouraged you to use Search (you can also use Google to search through the whole site) and use titles that actually clarify what your thread is about. As it is, it could be anything - a new wave of Classic Cartoon Favorites? a discount? a discontinuation of the line? a comment about their lack of slipcovers? There are three large Press Release threads discussing the different waves and the line in general; any of those would be better than starting a new thread.

Thanks for understanding!
