The Lion King. I just want to remind you that This Or That often brings in the fab four. You can easily ask this question there.

I understand that you created this thread for people to write why they like the movie so much. Very well...

I like The Lion Kingbecause of the animation and the storyline. Beauty and the Beasthas a great heroine and an interesting storyline, but somehow I just don't like it as much.

I'll have to go with The Lion King it has a better storyline and is more entertaining then Beauty and the Beast.

What's The Lion King?? j/k

I like Beauty and the Beast because it has a romantic story line. I love the music. :) Be our Guest!

I like the animation in the ballroom scene and the enchanted rose. The Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts are cute characters.

Beauty and the Beast, without a doubt. The Lion King is excellent, but Beauty has a better story, cast of characters, and musical score. This and Pocahontas are the most mature romance stories in the Disney canon, in my opinion.

Beauty & the Beast for me. Even though Aladdin and Treasure Planet are my favorites, I consider B&tB the best animated film of all time. Everything comes together so well it's scary. The songs are some of the best ever seen in musicals. Plus Angela Lansbury fits the mood perfectly when she sings the title song.

Lion King all the way. Excellent music, colorful characters, and timeless story based on Hamlet and fabulous animation I say Lion King is one of the greatest films of all time! Beauty and the Beast is great too in alot of ways but just isn't as enjoyable as Lion King IMO!

For me, it's a tie. They're both unique in their own special way.

Beauty And The Beast has romance with Beast and Belle and the villian Gaston.

The Lion King has romance with Simba and Nala and the villians Scar and the three hyenas.

Beauty and the Beast. I love The Lion King, but I think Beauty and the Beast just seems much more eligant and classy, and it doesn't have fart jokes! :P

Man, I love Beauty and the Beast. I'm a tad obsessed with it, actually. It's one of the most romantic movies of all time, plus it's squeaky clean and has cute characters for the kids. What other movie can boast that? And the music is absolutely wonderful. By far my favourite movie of all time (with Lion King coming in second).

I think I like Beauty and the Beast more. I love MANY things, I'm too lazy to list them since many, or all, have been mentioned by others. However, I just love how Belle and the Beast grow closer together, and how the Beast changes for the better -- all due to love.

I get very emotional in the 'final battle' scene and when the Beast dies.

I also like the relationship between Belle et la Bette. :) The final scene is emotional. I have to watch the movie again because I forgot how the movie ended.

I like Beauty and the Beast better. It seems more like a "classic" because Lion King is so up-beat, colourful and new. I like the romance of BATB better than the comedy in TLK.

The Lion King is not all about comedy, if you didn' notice. Beauty and the Beast is a very well done animated classic and is one of my personal favorites but it lost some of its appeal to me. I used to enjoy watching it, but now that I do, I just feel like skipping the movie to the parts I wanna watch. (Ballroom sequence, Be our Guest, West Wing.) I can't wait for one part to come and I tend to ignore the rest of the movie. Maybe because I'm a guy and the romance thing won't appeal to me as much as TLK.
The relationship between Nala and Simba in TLK is not one of its major plots, but the journey of Simba who forgot his past and was afraid to face it when it came back to him. The relationship between father and son is something I relate to in real life, and of course some of the best songs I've ever heard. I also like the animation better in TLK (from the grandeur sunrise to the majesty that is the ending.)

They're both really good movies but I'll go with my all-time favorite movie The Lion King.

I've only heard one fart joke in the whole movie so don't get me started on that subject, that's the way Pumba is and that's why nobody likes him except his faithful pals Timon and Simba.

Sorry, I just don't like the manner in the way that it was approached in the movie. I agree with everything you said, but I hate it when film-makers reduce themselves to fart jokes in order to amuse young ones.

Besides, no need to get all worked up. We all have our opinions! And don't get me wrong, it's one of the best movies out there, so I can see why you love it so much!
