Ok, I have been thinking about joing the DMC (Disney Movie Club) for awhile now but I had some questions and hopefully someone on the forum will be able to answer them for it.
1) Are the PEs usually available from the Club as soon as they are released??
2) Do movies from the club come with slipcovers?? The ones that feature a slipcover?
3) are the regular prices at, above or below normal video store prices?
4) is it really worth it?
THANKS
Questions, Questions, Questions...
Well since no one has answered you yet, I'll try the best I can.
1) From what other members have said, PE and all new releases usually take awhile to become available throught the website. Bambi is available and has been for over a month now. Incredibles just recently became available too, so it looks like its about a 2 month wait before you can get them. Of course they aren't available till you become a member I believe.
2) Most people have said they do come with slipcovers, but some have said they don't so I'm not sure if they're is a definent answer to this question. I would assume that they do come with a slipcover.
3) As for the prices, they have sales every month which will give you a pretty nice deal most of the time (EX: buy 1 get the rest 20% off, or free shipping.) The regular prices are basically the same that you will find at a DVD store, they are lower then the suggested retail price.
4) I think it is worth it because if you take advantage of all the DVD's when you enroll, you get a great deal and only have a few more to buy at regular price. It's great if you wanna get the movies they offer exclusively to members or the Disney Treasures Tins too because they easily fill up the rest of the DVDs for your agreement.
Not sure if the V.I.P program is worth it yet, so far I have not seen any benefits.
Hopefully I helped answer some of your questions at least somewhat.

It took me a while to decide to join. I found some positives and negatives about the club but overall think it was a good decision to join.
Cydney did a pretty good job of answering your questions- here's my two cents.
1) PE's are becoming available sooner than they used to be. A month or two lag behind when they are released in stores. But since they are usually much cheaper in stores (like Walmart) the first week they are released, I'd recommend using the DMC for other dvds that would fill holes in your collection or would be hard to find somewhere else than the new releases. Although sometimes the new ones come with a free gift (Bambi was recently offered with a free lithograph) so that could be something you'd want to pick up.
2) Some do, some don't. In my first order, the DVDs that I ordered that could have potentially come with slipcovers were Finding Nemo, Alice & Wonderland and Mary Poppins. A&W and MP came with slipcovers while Finding Nemo did not. I'm sure if it's a really new release that it would.
3) Regular prices are slightly above what you can find in stores and online (I prefer overstock.com) but the monthly advertised deals and the first few free ones make it worth it. I averaged it all out and I think if I order my four commitment dvds in two batchs (to save on shipping you see) then it will be like an average of $11 or $12 a dvd.
4) I think it's worth it. I really wanted Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken and got it through the club since it's an exclusive. I also had a SMALL disney DVD collection when I joined. If you have lots of Disney DVDs already and are only looking to fill in a few holes here and there, it might not be the club for you.
The pains I see are remembering to decline the featured selection every month and that the first shipment of DVDs takes a while. I haven't become a VIP yet so I don't know how great that is going to be.
I say join!!
