Star Wars III on DVD 11/1!!!!

Post by PMcOuntry »

5/10/05

This is VERY early information, so take it with a grain of salt. But several of our video retail sources are indicating to us that 20th Century Fox has tentatively set Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven for DVD release on 10/11, with Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith tentatively due on 11/8 (a worldwide release on the same day). The 11/8 date for Episode III has been corroborated with multiple independent retailer sources. It also jives with the Burger King watch promotion details that leaked on 5/2 (see this post below). Again, however, I'd like to stress that none of this is official until announced by the studio (and Lucasfilm in the case of Episode III). It's possible that these dates will shift before they're made public (as they often do).

What we DO know about Episode III is that Lucas himself has confirmed (to MTV.com) that the film will be available on DVD in time for this Christmas, that the disc will include 5-6 deleted scenes, and that a 6-film box set will be available at some point in the future.

Stay tuned...

I'm patiently waiting for the 6 movie box set... I don't currently own any Star Wars movies on DVD.. I'm assuming, 6 movies.. 4 bonus DVD's, 10 DVD's, 100 bucks for the set sounds about right for lucas.. So I'll set aside 150 for when the real price is released :D

Do we know if Episode III will be released with 2-Disc treatment like Episodes I & II?
Will they release the prequels in a trilogy box alone?

For me, I own all of the movies. So I guess I will just be purchasing the Episode III DVD to finish my collection. Can't wait!

No word on the I, II, III trilogy, although I was hoping for that myself...

Since I just got the first Trilogy.

Haveing all 6 in one set would be cool, but we are talking like $100+ and... speculation has it at 2007 when the 30th anniversary is.

No word on the new "trilogy", but that is how I was hoping to get them, as I don't have I or II yet.

I agree I & II did not hold my interest, and I plan to buy III first. I mum and dad want to see them all in order, so I'll rent I & II, lol.

Hopefully in December we might have a Presequel Box Set. In the future we could have a 6 DVD set with a Dark Vader head. :D
Just like the Matrix Box Set with a Neo head.

I saw Episode 3 today and all I can say is, "I'm Definatly buying the DVD!"

I don't need a box with all the movies though, I'm fine with the 2-Disc release of each one. I think Episode 3 and 2 are must owns. Phantom Meance I don't think anyone needs.

I'm hoping that if they put all three in a prequel boxset soon after the third is released that people have the option to somehow get the box for free like what happened with the LOTR extended trilogy boxset.

I like my original trilogy boxset but it does seem to be lacking a bit. It's got lots of extras but somehow I felt like it could have had a whole lot more.

I saw Revenge of the Sith the Sunday after it came out and it was amazing! The prequels have been getting progressively better.

Episode I: :shifty:

Episode II: :float:

Episode III:  :jawdrop:

After seeing this one, I'm actually sad that this is the last Star Wars film. I'm positive it'll get 2-Disc treatment. Sadly, I only have Episodes I and II on DVD, but I'm getting the original trilogy set as soon as I can.

Deleted scenes...
I wonder which they will be...
How did Yoda get to land on that crappy planet?
More fighting scenes?
alternate battle scenes?
More Chewbacka and fuzzy stuff?

We´ll have to wait a little longer

Well, I already own 1,2,4,5,6 on DVD, so I'll just have to get III and my collection will be complete! Oh, and the BK watches look pretty good.

Dead on. Episode one was among the silliest movies ever produced. Episode 2 was a snorefest.

I still don't see why people keep insulting Attack of the Clones. Though it's not as good as the original trilogy or ROTS, I still think the movie was actually pretty good.

It's that good? Well, almost any movie has the right to destroy Titanic's record. :D

Yes Revenge of the Sith is one of the best films I ever saw! And I really wanting it to be the #1 movie at the box-office. However the crowds are all ready slowing down! So I want people to see it at least twice. And if you haven't seen it, see it now! You won't be disappointed!

I'm going to see it for the second time sometime this month. RotS has been in theaters for around 2 weeks and according to Yahoo!, has made about $290,115,000 so far. It still has a long way to go before it gets to #1 in the box office. To do that, it has to beat Titanic, which made $600,788,188 in it's entire run.

So for everyone who did not read that box office report above, summarized, it means: Go see RotS now!
