Old Disney Channel Movie Question

Post by bennyb98 »

Ok, for a long time I have been in search for information about this movie. All I know is that it was an animated movie and was shown on the Disney Channel about 10-12 years ago.

This is what of the plot I remember:
It featured a Snow Whiteish character and little men, I’m not sure if they were dwarfs or how many their were, and they lived in some sort of a cottage.
And of course there was an evil woman
Towards the end of the movie, the girl is taken by the evil
women to this big mansion/castle. And the men go looking for her.
However in the house the door keep changing, i.e. a door will appear and after you go thru it, it will disappear, and the door will then open into another room. But when they enter one of the men's shoes catches on a nail or a piece of wood and it strings along allowing them to escape from t
is house by simply following the string.

Does any one remember this?? And I know it is not Happily Ever After.

I feel like I know what you are talking about, but then I don't. 10 - 12 years ago was about the time we first got cable television and the Disney Channel was REALLY different with no commercials (besides what was coming up next) and the Mickey symbol close-captions available message.

Anyhow, I remember a non-disney animated movie that came out about that time called something like The Troll and the Princess or The Princess and the Trolls. It featured a princess in red or pink or maroon and she had long brown hair. There was an ad for it in Disney Adventures magazine. Could this be it?

Around this time I also remember watching a Felix the Cat the movie which featured a magic bag and a princess who was shrunken, though I don't know if this is it.

That sounds JUST like what our Family channel is like now.

I don’t think it is "The Princess and the Goblin." I remember that she was living in a house with some men, kinda like Snow White and there was an evil witch out to get here. If I recall correctly, there was even a scene where the witch was a traveling salesman and that’s how she captured the girl. Also, the "goofy-ish" character was the one whose shoe got caught on the nail and ended up saving everyone.

bennyb, this is driving me nuts! :P I hope someone figures it out or has a fan site or something whilst I google till the cows come home!

ETA: Found a good overview of the evolution of the Disney channel. Hmmm evolution or degradation? Anyhow I was thinking, "Wow! Someone remembers the old Zoogs and new Zoogs and even before with the commercial free Disney Channel. They also include a list of the Disney Channel Original movies since 1983.

http://www.answers.com/topic/disney-channel

lol, sorry bennyb, I still haven't found what we're looking for, but I'll keep going!

ETA: I found a really good list by Jerry Beck of all animated features released in Theaters from

1. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (12/21/37) RKO - Walt Disney. to 334. HAPPY FEET (11/17/06) Warner Bros.

Once I reached A Goofy Movie and The Pebble and The Penguin, I knew it wasn't there. The only one close was:

75. ONCE UPON A TIME (10/1/76) G.G. Communications (German-Italian) 83 mins. D: Rolf Kauka, Roberto Gavioli. Maria, a beautiful girl from a poor family, outwits her wicked stepmother and stepsister to reunite with a handsome prince.

but you didn't mention stepsisters. Anyhow, do you remember about what time period it was made? The list was very comprehensive (a little too much since it included X rated animated features :o ) so it probably was not theatrically released.

As soon as you said the traveling salesman thing I totally remember that! I just can't for the life of me remember the name of it!!!

This is really irritating.

And I don't get that Zoog stuff. That occurred after my prime Disney Channel-watching days. "Zoog Disney" is quite recent (if I remember correctly).

YEA!! I'm not crazy, someone else remembers it too!! I am sending an email to Disney Channel under the Help section, maybe someone will forward it to the right person, I can only hope.

Sadly, I don’t remember very much more about it, all I do recall besides that is I was watching one day when I was home sick from school, so it had to have aired during the day!!

<b>Kram Nebuer</b>, don't worry about it too much, as it has been driving me nuts for years trying to figure it out! It might be "Once Upon A Time" but I really don't remember a prince.

Perhaps "Snow White Christmas"? I used to love this when I was little, it was made in 1980, but I think I watched a VCR recording of it off of Disney Channel.

I googled the title Soulbrotha suggested.

Now that I think about it, you'd probably remember the seven giants. She looks like the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch fromArchie Comics.

I really don't know, does any one know if "Snow White Christmas" has an ending where someone has a string that gets caught on a nail and that is how they get out of the castle??
