Do your teachers hate disney cartoon movies??
one of mine does!! she says they are for little kids but i disagree with her!!

i am tiz a evil experiment but also human
I guess teachers is like all other persons, they have diffrent views one diffrent issues.
There are lots of people that dislike cartoons and dismiss them as childish but there are as well lots of people that don't like art galeries because they don't understand them (I am one of those).

"You hate to repeat yourself. I don't like to make sequels to my pictures. I like to take a new thing and develop something, a new concept." - Walt Disney
When Lion King came out, I was OBSESSED with it. And everything I did in art class was Lion King related. Not so much the characters, but the overall backgrounds and scenery. And she was getting annoyed as hell with it. So I did it more, cause I hated her anyways.
She told me, "You need to get away from this Lion King thing and be open for other styles."
I replied, "Did they tell Pablo Picasso that when he went through his Blue Period?"
I really was a good kid in school, but she rubbed me the wrong way, so I had to be a smart arse with her all the time. She was just a mean, jealous, egotistical witch. Mean to everyone who didn't compliment her new artwork she had up everyday. And there were people in the class who had not just better art then me, but also then the teacher and she hated them the most. Anyone who's art looked better then her's, she gave a hard time. She also was the major anal hall monitor, "Spit out that gum....Where you suppost to be?...." I swear the woman had no life. She lived to be mean. NEVER did I EVER hear her tell anyone it was a good job. Only critique and even insults.

I had a very weird english teacher that didn't teach me a thing about english. He taught me all about his Superman comics, Woody Guffman and The Wizard of Oz. Oh and there were times he just talked about the pills he took. I also remember saying he liked Loony Tunes and Sponge Bob. Don't remember him saying anything about Disney, but I think he likes it. Oh yeah he also like Davy Crocket!
One of my high school history teachers that I had the displeasure of having twice loved to prove Disney movies wrong. As if any of us actually thought they were accurate representations anyway! We had a number of lectures on why Hercules was a terrible representation of myth, why Mulan was totally inaccurate and misrepresented the Oriental world, how Pocahontas was a complete disgrace, and that Johnny Tremain glorified the American Revolution.

I've never had a teacher who liked/disliked Disney movies, but a classmate of mine in middle school had a math teacher who was a big fan of Mickey (he had a lot of Mickey-related stuff in his classroom, like posters and old educational shorts).
From what I've heard (and I don't know if he's still working), this particular math teacher was notorious for giving out homework every single day of the week, and over school vacations. The only day he didn't give out homework was Mickey Mouse's birthday.

My high school art teacher did not allow students to "copy" existing cartoon characters in our class sketchbooks, but I did a lot of Disney-influenced artwork. Other kids got P.O'd with me since I was the only one that she'd let get away with it. I think she liked Disney a bit, but reasoned we should have been working on our own creations. Looking back, she probably should have pushed me more towards that.
Art school was a different story, of course. We only did life-drawing in my one class, and one teacher liked my style (which was very soft at the time) while another teacher disliked my "soft, Disney-influenced" artwork; he actually said that my style wasn't "crunchy enough," of all things. That became a big joke for a while, and prompted me to scribble all over everything I drew until I found a happy medium!
And then there was my fundamentals teacher. He hated Disney with a passion, so we had a lot of friendly arguing in his class. I also would sneak in "hidden Mickeys" anywhere in a project that I possibly could just to tick him off!!! He actually said that "Disney is the death of the world as we know it," although he eventually admitted that there was some great artwork to Pinocchio when I made him look.
I'll see if I have one of those hidden Mickeys handy from back then (it's too late to look tonight) and I might snap a pic of it to post.
Man, I miss art school.

My GCSE Art teacher didn´t seem to like much of my Art work that I did for her, which was, to an extent, Disney inspired. She was a bit mean and always made subtle rude remarks about my work (example: "Why not research LS Lowry? His artwork is also cartoony."
). Fortunately, I gave her a kick up the butt by doing everything that she liked (work inspired by this weird guy who held a cat and wore a dress in his photo
) mixed in with what I like (Mary Blair, stories, Art Nouveau) and ended up getting a B!
On a lighter note, one of the RE teachers in our school is blatantly obsessed with The Lion King and The Jungle Book, as almost all her lessons for the Year 7 and 8 classes always seem to link to those movies.

I don't think its wierd either, however I'm 19 and I'm drinking a Mike's Hard Lemonade right now. But that's because we're out of real lemonade. I mean you might think its wierd because my dad bought a 6 pack of Mike's just for me... I love my dad very much.tomothy81 wrote:I don't really think that you can classify someone as being wierd because they don't drink alcohol. Anyways on subject here, all the teachers that I've had like Disney films because in some classes that's all we watched. Well they don't want parents getting mad a teachers for letting there children watching rated "R" films so we gotta watch these instead. But I'm not complaining.
