Hi everyone;
This is my first post. I really like the website, I've got release dates written all over my calendar!
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of Disney's plans for their soundtracks? I was very pleased to see a Special Edition soundtrack CD for Beauty & The Beast and The Lion King when they came out on Platinum Edition DVD's.
For some reason Pocahontas didn't make the Platinum DVD cut (not cool) but I weas really hoping for a SE Soundtrack with the release of a SE DVD. Same for Mulan.
Does anyone know if Disney plans to release new soundtracks for these aweosme movies?
Thanks!

First off, welcome! I'm sure you'll have a fun time here!
I see no reason for a rerelease of the Mulan soundtrack, but a Pocahontas one is expected after the new release. I really don't have an answer, I'm also curious as to know why a new soundtrack hasn't been released.

Hey, C_Guy! Welcome to the UD forum!
Well, Im really not an expert on the soundtracks but Ill give it my best shot.
My guess is that Mulan will not be getting a new soundtrack anytime soon. If it were to get one, it would have been long ago, closer to its release. Also with Pocahontas. Even though it has just been released, if it isnt in stores now, I would assume a new release is unlikely. I was guessing that it was just a Platinum Edition thing but Marry Poppins got a new Soundtrack for its 40th Anniversary.
Here is a link (http://www.disney.go.com/disneyrecords/soundtracks) that has a full list of all the Disney Soundtracks. I clicked on Mulan and Pocahontas and then on their buy buttons, just to test them out, and they both say the CD is not available. So this link can just be used for info. If you are looking to purchase them, I would try Amazon.
Hope this helped!

It's A Shame
Thanks for the reply guys!
It really is shame that Disney hasn't released new CDs for Pocahontas, Mulan, or even Hunchback. One of the big selling points of these new DVD's is the addition of a song to the movie, so you'd think a new accompanying soundtrack would be in the works, too...
Ah well... never say never, right?

I have kind of started collecting the soundtracks. I own the Mulan one from back when it came out, but Pocahontas came out back when I still used cassettes and I got rid of that. I would love a special edition re-release of the soundtrack with "If I Never Knew You" on it. The film version that is. The pop verson was on the original release. The soundtracks are a funny thing. They bring them out, but sometimes not for long. Snow White's seemed to be put away when the DVD's were. grrr! I missed that one. However, Cinderella and The Jungle Book were discontinued, and they suddenly started making them again. You can get them through Amazon.com. I would love to own the soundtracks to most of the animated classics. I also have the new Mary Poppins 2 CD set and Pete's Dragon.

I plan on getting soundtracks of movies with BGM and songs I like. The first I got was "Sleeping Beauty" (Mexican version - songs in Spanish).
Then I got Special Edition Beauty and the Beast, because it is special edition and there was only one left on the store... Haven't seen it since...
Here in Mexico I've seen many soundtracks, some with Spanish music, some imported from the US. I could get Sleeping Beauty, Tarzan and Little Mermaid... I'm not getting TLM because I'm sure it will get a new release. With Spanish songs I've seen Snow White, Bambi, Tarzan, Treasure Planet, Jungle Book, Aladdin...
Oh! I also saw Cinderella (US version) once in Mexico City, but I also want to wait for a new soundtrack this fall...
