Question about Brother Bear DVD sales

Post by Kenai »

Curious question. As of to date, how much has Brother Bear made in DVD sales?

Brother Bear was one of the 10 highest-earning DVD releases of 2004, and Disney's second biggest, moving just under 6 million units through December 31:

It did incredibly well and I think deservadely so. Especially given the fact it wasnt given good space by some very big retailers because it did not get to the 100M blockbuster status.

Wow Brother Bear did pretty good! I still think it's sad people like Crap 2 sorry I mean Shrek 2 sold more than Spiderman, Star Wars, Elf, Aladdin and Brother Bear. I even thought Lion King 1 1/2 and the overrated Return of the King were better movies.

Not even close really. Finding Nemo remains the top-selling DVD of all-time, as far as I know. By the end of 2003, it had sold 18.5 million units (slightly more than 3x as many as Brother Bear). It also earned another $38 million in DVD sales in 2004, which probably puts the total units sold at around 21 M at least.

I have yet to see Brother Bear. This movie plus Home on the Range have no appeal to me for some reason.

Awesome, thanks Luke. :)

And yes, this movie did very well on DVD (and apparently was a bigger hit overseas). Sad American audiences didn't want to give it a chance. All the props to Brother Bear.
