This was HORRIBLE!!!!!! (non-disney)

I watched this korean movie called Volcano High (in the original language) and I loved it!!! I was waiting for a R1 release so bad.... and I finally could get my chance..... but look at the horror.

WHY, WHY, WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a HUGE first! Just because these rapers dubbed (and most probably ruined) the movie they get to appear on the cover? And this size?

Snoop Dog's voice coming out of a Korean's mouth might actually be really funny to watch :D

Plus, I was just reading a DVD synopsis and the orginal Korean version is there, so you really have nothing to worry about.

:o I remember seeing something like that on MTV a long time ago. It wasn't in Korean, but it was dubbed over by the rappers. Wasn't very good. It's been a LONG time since I've seen it but I'm pretty sure it wasn't all that great (the dubbed over voices, the storyline was good).

But yeah, why do they need to be on the cover? I mean, you don't see Ellen Degeneres on the cover of Finding Nemo... They probably did it just so it will appeal to more of the "hip-hop" crowd.

That movie poster had me thinking for a moment that they were going to be remaking Volcano High with Method Man and co.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

They also chopped the original movie[ they took 19 min off!!!

And in response to Dan05... everything is horrible. I mean, of course the movie somehow had to have a dubbed, but did they have to mess with the whole cover just to make notice? Besides, that movie has nothing to do with hip hop as they're trying to advertise.

...and, as Fee-Hee-Hee-Eny they don't have to be in the cover much less that size. There are other movies like:

where just the names appear on the cover.

...And besides, by the looks of Volcano High they're giving away a complete wrong impression of the movie. That IS bad.

They probably just put the rappers on the cover to appeal to a younger audience. Most teenagers and preteens today would not want to sit through a foreign film, so my guess is that the people who created this movie thought that maybe the younger audience would sit through a foreign film if their favorite rap stars were in it.

Which is really stupid in my opinion.

You must feel the same way about this Korean-rap movie as this person does about Mary Poppins. rotfl

I didn't give a rat's behind for anyone WHO did the voices in Mononoke. First, they weren't all that HUGE of actors. Billy Bob Thorton was the most universally known and that was before Angelina Jolie and Bad Santa, so he still wasn't all that known as a draw for audiences.
Gillian Anderson was the second biggest, but for X-Files only. More people know Scully then they know Gillian Anderson.

You are comparing well known names and faces of huge rap stars with little known tv and bit part actors that the general public don't know. Now if it was Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez on that cover, people would care more.

That's not to say Mononoke isn't my all time fav anime. But the last thing I cared about was who did the voices. You think people saw Home on the Range for Rossane? When it comes to animated features, few actors grab the general public's attention as a "I've got to see that!", all because someone did their voice.

I like a little rap. I only like the kind of rap that rocks though and has many swear words in it. For instance, Geto Boys - Still. If you ever seen Office Space, you would know what I'm talking aboot.

Don't take this the wrong way, but your misspelling of "rappers" initially scared me until I realized you simply made a typo!
