Most likely, he died a day or two ago and they are waiting to announce so they can gather the cardinals together.

He's not dead yet.
Maybe it is an April Fool's joke!
Still, if ever there was an argument against the Catholic Church and their anti-euthanasia policy, I think we've found it (against the Pope, not MMP - although either would be fine).
Just let the man have a nap!

Don't mind my sarcastic sense of humour. I think Loomis is right! He was been Pope quite a long time. I think it is his time to leave and go to better place and get some rest!
You know, when you can´t say something nice, don´t say nothing at all.
At least have a little respect for the Pope, not because who he is as a religious figure but as the person he have been all this year.
For God´s sake, he is the only one who used to vsit the one who tried to kill him!
Respect man,it´s all what I ask

hmm...
Isidour, I do highly respect the Pope...
but when it is his time to go...
The Pope has gone through so much...if you read the news, his heart and kidneys are slowly functioning, his breath is weakening...
So in some way, Loomis may have a point (though it wasn't said nicely...)
Prayers are still being said for him, but personally, as much as I don't want him to pass away, I also don't want him to suffer (more).

...but let's not get into a debate about that.

Hi
I am not of the Catholic Religion, but I still have a great deal of respect for the man, for all the good he has done with the Catholic religion. I hope that he recovers quickly, and regains health enough to go on with his life. He truly is an awesome man.
Recover quick, Pope John Paul II

In fact, the post was for Loomis.
Yes, he is almost on the other side and yes, this is something than sooner or later would happened. But the fact than it´s happening or it just happend is no reason to d ot respect.
Call it if your sarcastycal "humor" wants to "respect for the death" but at the end respect.
Respect for someone who have fougth more than anyone here around or evn of anyone of this days, to somebody who is respected and loved even for non-catholic people.
I could say thn I´m happy than someone sharedyour same point of view and even laugh of your post But really makes me feel shame, shame than there´s people who enjoys the others pain and sorrow and make it a practical joke.
I`ll never wih this happend to someone, but I´m pretty shure than you wouldn´t like that type of chit chat if one of your friends o family members be almost "a death bugger" as you should say.
And RJKD23,I know too than the time will come and it´s something than we can´t do something for but even those who are death or almost death should get a little respect.
That´s what I think, and I have to say than it´s a shame than the death of one of the most great person of the XX century it´s no more tha a practical joke for someones

The post wasn't meant to be disrespectful - if it was, it'd be far more obvious. As a "lapsed Catholic" (i.e. all of the guilt, none of the faith), I understand what he means etc etc.Isidour wrote:In fact, the post was for Loomis.

However, the poor old guy is being dragged out on a semi-daily basis to perform duties that any other humane profession in the world would have let him retire from years ago. He's done god's work - let the poor dear rest!

ah, Loomis, all your posts are so...(thinks of nice word) yes, enlightening. Sarcastic, but truthful."I have information from the Vatican from a half an hour ago. The Pope is in serious, but stable condition. The Pope has not lost consciousness," Father Konrad Hejmo, a close friend of the Pope's, told Reuters.
Except the bit you say about MMP.
