Bob Eger at the disney Q2 earnings he said the company has changed its platinum schedule to release 2 a year one in march and one in october and all the tittles will be released by 2007, after lion king the 2 a year will kick in! beside the platinum tittles coming early we will get 2 disc set of pinocchio, sleeping beauty, peter pan and fantasia!!!!!!!!
yeah i just listened to it again it seems that sleeping beauty, peter pan, pinocchio and fantasia are going in the platinum tittle list which means they are getting the platinum banner.
So does this mean the Sleeping Beauty coming out this fall will be a platium edition? I am too lazy to listen. Maybe some one who has could offer thier opinion.. thanks.

Why is Fantasia getting a Platinum Edition? The Fantasia Anthology was a killer CE. I guess we might get it uncut though. Hopefully they won't re-use material.
As for the others, that's great, because I haven't bought any previous editions. A great move for Disney.

We'll never see this uncut again. Same with the rest of the movies with edited scenes...
I think Fantasia and Sleeping Beauty WOULD be the same things they've already put out but with a different label. Except Disc 3 of the Anthology would probably lose the Fantasia 2000 and become Disc 2 for that. But Peter Pan and Pinocchio would have to get new, improved sets, no?
well it will be stupid if they did that cause the moratorium tittle is only 5 years and if they want all the rest of the tittle out by 05 adding sleeping beauty till throw the 2 movies cycle off
or maybe they will pull it forward, i doubt they will but they are starting it this year the 2 a year with sleeping beauty added to the platinum and next year they will start their official march and october strategy till october 07.
