I'm going to visit some friends in Tampa during spring break. We're going to Disney World for one day with a 1 day park hopper. I was there just 2 years ago, and the only things I havent seen are Mission space, Stitch, and Philharmagic. We're ruling out Epcot, and we're going to attempt to pass through Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and MGM. This is going to be on the Tuesday or Wednesday after Easter, so it's likely to be crowded though I'm hoping most spring breaks are either now or the week before Easter.
Anyway, does this plan sound impossible: Go to Animal kingdom in the morning at 8am when it opens, ride Bugs life, dinosaur, safari, and lion king show and see other things if we're doing good on time. I'm hoping to be out of there by noon. Then go to mgm, do tower of terror, rock n roller coaster, and a few other things and see Fantasmic at 7:30, then haul butt over to magic kingdom and make it for ~9pm and go ride as many top things as possible in that 3 hours its open while most people are watching the parades and fireworks and families with tired kids are going back to their hotel.
My other alternative is to just do magic kingdom for the first half of the day, then mgm the second and leave out animal kingdom. I'd do this if I knew for sure it was going to be extremely crowded.
So what do you other experienced Disney world fans think of this?

I've done it... if you're smart about when you ride things and don't mind hustling, and crowds aren't very bad (a must), then you can do it. Otherwise, you'll probably have to cut to 2 parks, but you can guage yourself as you go. A 16-hour day in the parks is a lot of fun and you'll feel like you've accomplished a ton, but your exhaustion catches up with you in a big way when you get back to your room.

That sounds do-able as long as the crowds aren't bad.
Also, what other kinds of passes do they have? Do they have weekend passes for all the parks like the day passes you're talking about? I would love to be able to see all the parks like that but wouldn't want to rush the experience you know?

I once did Disneyland for 18 hours on the fourth of July weekend 8 am to 2 am. Man the park was empty for that last hour. Managed to do Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain in that last hour.
Have fun

They don't really have weekend passes or anything like that. You can buy a park ticket for any number of days you want, and the more days you buy it for, the cheaper the price drops per day (and it drops fast)- so that 7 days is now probably your best buy in terms of value.Disney Lover wrote:Also, what other kinds of passes do they have? On each of those days, you can visit one park and one park only (unless you want to use up 2 days in one). If you want to visit multiple parks in one day and not lose any days for it, then you'll need to buy a Park Hopper feature for your ticket ($35 per person covers your entire stay), and that's highly recommended.
Tickets expire after 14 days of first use; however, you can also add a no expiration option on to your ticket (price varies with number of days), which is really up to you. There are also "plus" options you can add on to your ticket that combine things like the water parks. Does that make sense?
If you want to see a somewhat confusing pricing bracket (and with the new ticketing system, confusion is inevitable, but it's a better deal), look here: http://www.wdwmagic.com/magicyourway.htm

Just wanted to give a report on how I did. We decided to just stick with magic kingdom and MGM. We got there around 7:30 am and MK opened at 8am. We got were among the first in the park besides resort guests with early entry. We rushed to Fantasy land and walked on Peter Pan, Philharmagic, and Small World. Philharmagic is really cool. They made the waiting area of Small world look like the outside of Disney Land's version. Other than that it just looked cleaner, nothing different in the ride.
From there we did Haunted Mansion, the fast passed Thunder Mountain and rode Splash Mountain, then walked on Thunder Mountain. We then did the Tiki Room and Pirates. This is all by 11am.
We then went to tomorrow land and there were long waits for everything there. Stitch had a 90 minute wait, Buzz had a 60 minute wait and Space mountain was broken down. So we fast passed Buzz and waited for Stitch which ended up taking 2 hours because it too was having technical difficulties. They did a really good job with it, even though its not as intense and Alien encounter. There are some funny special effects, including the scene from the movie where Stitch is spitting and the lasers shoot the spots where he spits. After Buzz, we did Carousel of Progress then headed over to MGM at about 2pm.
At MGM we waited 90 minutes for Rock n Roller coaster. After that we were the last group to get into millionaire, then ran over to Little mermaid and lucked out and got in with the last group there too. After that we rode the great movie ride, then had dinner at Prime Time cafe which is my favorite restaurant in disney world. The food is good and the service and atmosphere are the best. From there we rode Tower of Terror. It was 9:45 when we got done there, and Fantasmic's third show was at 10:30. We asked a cast member if we had time to go do another attraction and she said yes since Fantasmic likely wouldnt be filled up. So we ran to the otehr side of the park and did the Muppet movie, then got back to Fantasmic just in time and got good seats right in the center.
We skipped some stuff, but I had been there just 2 years before and I wanted to do the best stuff with my friends since they hadn't seen any of it. All and all, I think we did pretty good. By the time we got back to their house at 1am, we had been up 20 hours
