Snow White CGI
Snow White CGI
How long before the big brains at Disney decide to start remaking their classic cartoons in CGI?
I bet it'll happen within 5 years.
I bet it'll happen within 5 years.
why ruin animation and the beloved animated characters?!
i dunno about turning snow white into CGI.
Did you see the Disneyland 50th Anniversary commercial?
some characters were fine (iago, donald duck..)
but others weren't (dumbo i noticed was scary and cinderella wasn't appealing to me!)
then again, that's just my opinion.
i hope NEVER!

Disney would've made a very big bistake in making CGI movies of the classics, did they really think that the new generations won't like the old ones where Walt Disney had his things done, or? The whole thing sounds ridicilous, thank god they didn't do anything more then just think about it (which is way too much already).
Same here! But I wouldn't like it if they replaced the older versions

Think about it, these movies achieve a certain look, feel or atmosphere because of its unique designs. If Disney were to 3D these images the whole "illusion" and appeal would be lost...shr_fan wrote:As long as they kept the old ones out too, I don't see anything wrong with it.But I wouldn't like it if they replaced the older versions.

CGI
I see absolutely no point in remaking 44 movies as CGI. How stupid is that....! I doubt they ever seriously considered this. It must have been some publicity gone haywire. It sounds totally unrealistic.
I am not opposed to new CGI films, or doing sequels in CGI. Maybe they'll look better than most of those cheapquels that we all just looooove...

Re: CGI
It was probably just an idea they toyed around with in one of their meetings.. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney considered this. I even thought of it myself a year or two ago!Owlzindabarn wrote:I see absolutely no point in remaking 44 movies as CGI. How stupid is that....! I doubt they ever seriously considered this. I think than all this deal--and I repeat and in capital letters I THINK-- it´s because the classics as we know today are just perfect. They´re masterpieces than not only envolves the draws, the colors and the character; but also the effort, the love and the passion than the drawers have or had when they make this characters and give them life.
The 3D animation it´s really cool and it still have a long way to travel, but today I can say than it´s almost real--E.G. Gollum, or the hair on The Incredibles--but I think than we all looking on this movies are not reality, but a magic land where we can forget for at least one or two hours our problems and transport us to this new and magical realm.
Yes, the 3D designers also suffered a lot when they maked their characters and yes, all are great and almost reals. But what do you prefer most, see a almost-real Bambi or the actual Bambi?
The movies in 3D mostly are great, yes; but you can´t compare two things than may look as the same in process but different in escence.
For me, I like the Classics and I also like the 3D, but making a classic 3D it´s for me a really bad idea, like making a black guy white...imagine how many curgeryes would need, and how about his nose being fall out??

I've heard rumors that Eisner wanted to test out shot-for-shot remakes of Pinocchio and Peter Pan in CGI to see how well they'd go. Personally, I have to admit that I'm fascinated at seeing Disney characters in CGI...BUT I don't think they should remake the actual films. This isn't because I'm a purist who's against Disney characters in CGI, but because remaking these films in that format is a slap in the face to the animators who put hard work into each frame, only to have their work considered outdated. I think if Disney feels all CGI happy at the moment, then they should focus on other projects involving CGI Disney characters (like Mickey's Philharmagic or that Disneyland commercial). There are tons of scenes I'd love to see rendered in this format (the one that keeps popping up in my head is Cinderella's transformation), but there are other ways to depict these scenes than by doing flat-out remakes.

NO!Owlzindabarn wrote:Seriously, that whole remake thing...I honestly can't see Disney shelling out $150 million for a CGI remake of "The Fox and the Hound..." can you?
You know what though? I think DISNEY will attempt to create every animated character (the ones we love!) into CGI especially since Dreamworks is competing!
Did anyone see the ratings on their newest movie Robots?!
Some "idiot" at the college newspaper said it was soo good, it's bound to beat Disney in sales now that Pixar is no longer with them.
woop. dee. doo.
heck, I think that because Disney can't come up with any NEW animation (they just have to keep repeating sequels, sequels, sequels), they will move to CGI!
