Went to an advance screening tonight (Tuesday, Feb. 15) of the new Disney release "THE PACIFIER" with Vin Diesel.
Now this is no great movie mind you, but I think Vinny has found his niche in family comedy. His timing and his facial expressions are fabulous. Great story, lots of laughs, and a satifying ending.
I highly recommend that you all go see Disney's "The Pacifier" when it comes to a theater near you.

Thanks for the review! I thought the movie looked quite funny (judging by the trailer) and that it would be a good family movie, so it sounds like it turned out about as I expected. I think this one should be a moderate hit for Disney. (assuming that you're not the only person on the face of the earth that ends up enjoying it lol) Perhaps around a $70 million final domestic BO gross. Disney looks to have a fairly strong string of films lined up this year....
Just read your newspaper. Most movie theaters advertise the Advance Screenings two or three days in advance, at least they do here in Kansas.
That allows us to buy our tickets ahead of time thus guaranteeing a seat. And the showing is always the first of the evening around 7 pm and then we get to stay for the regular showing of whatever feature is in that particular theater, which was "The Wedding Date" in the theater we went to.
I don't know how they do it in other parts of the US, but that is how it is done here in Kansas. And movie tickets here are pretty cheap. I have read from some people that they are paying as much as $9.00 for general admission to a theater........that is highway robbery. Our maximum price here in Kansas is $7.00 and we have two cheapy houses that show second run featues for $2 a seat.

This lame premise of a super-macho military guy thrown into domestic chaos in the suburbs is not only predictable, it's insulting to the audience. The script by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant is obviously a rip-off of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Kindergarden Cop" and makes that 1990 film look like a cinematic masterpiece

To be honest, I hardly ever read reviews the title of that one just kind of struck me as funny. And it was a movie I never planned on seeing anyways. And....damn he got me.

Well, I don't think all movies have to be epic or touching ar even "great" to be enjoyable. In fact, sometimes I think the movie business takes itself too seriously at times (but in no way compares to how a lot of pop music takes itself way too seriously). . .
Anyway, to get back to topic, I think this one looks fun. I might be seeing it this weekend.

I recall a lot of so called critics hated 'National Treasure' when it came out.. yet the general movie going public embraced it. Im rather surprised people take critics so seriously..If I had not seen every disney film lambasted by critics then I would have missed seeing some of my favorite films of all time, contrary wise I have seen some of these films critics have held aloft as works of 'art' and they end up being the most repugnant celluloid offerings you can imagine...........A lot of the same critics that hated 'The Kid' and 'National Treasure' dont like The Pacifier...based on their track record Im definately GOING to see it now!!
