Most Anticipated DVD's of 2003?

Post by Edge »

Hi, new to the boards. Visited the site for months though.

So question for all of ya. What DVD releases are you most looking forward to for 2003?

For me it's probably chronological donald. I've been waiting for them to put donald out for three years now. i almost flipped when i heard. that's def. a first day release purchase.

Second place probably is a toss up between mm in living color 2 {nice way to finish off the set} and pirates of the caribbean {Assuming it comes out in december}. I think i was amongst many who looked forward to the movie but wasn't expecting it to be quite as good as it was. It would be nice to see a two disc set, because it's the type of movie that i'd actually like to see all the concept art and behind the scenes/making of material.

Hullo, and welcome to the boards Sir/Ma'am Edge.

For me, I am looking forward to all the Treasure Sets, mostly Donald, and also the Finding Nemo Collectors edition, along with The Lion King. Of course there are many other titles, but those are my main ones... ;)

Welcome to the forum, Edge!

For me, it's the trifecta of double-disc Disney sets coming out each fall month - Sleeping Beauty, Lion King (Gift Set for me), and Finding Nemo. There are at least three television season box sets I want for certain. The Santa Clause 2 is a highly-anticipated purchase. Widescreen reissues of the Absent Minded Professor, Space Jam, and the three good Vacation movies. And if it comes this year, the 9-disc Alien movie set.

There are far too many great DVD's coming out this fall for my wallet. These are just a few of the most likely purchases for me. I will most likely only get 50% of these titles.

Sleeping Beauty
The Lion King
Finding Nemo
Absent-Minded Professor
The Santa Clause II

Indiana Jones Trilogy
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang SE
Casper

I want Finding Nemo with the free lithographs. Stitch! The movie looks cool. Maybe The Lizzie McGuire movie.

Well, what I most looking forward to (Non-Disney) is the UK "Teachers" series 1 and 2 sets. Don't worry it's a UK television series and you won't know it. :) But those are even above the Looney Tunes discs for me!

Disney wise I suppose it's Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol 2. I've never seen the Runaway Brain and it's on my must see list! But all the Treasures sets are going to be great.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

LOL okay, i keep seeing the wartime, but what is on them exactly? :D

like i know whats on the mm and dd ones, but does anyone know the specifics of the wartime dvd set?

and this has been fascinating to see people from all over the world, especially australia. a friend of mine just came back {he's in the navy} and he stopped there, said it was a wonderful place to visit.

on a side note I'm wondering how sets its going to take to complete donald though, i mean he has a lot more film under him than mickey or goofy. and with the big three out of the way, if any other cartoon characters are due for the treatment. dvd has def. made it a lot easier and practicle to do entire sets of a certain character.

I also forgot a non disney set i am looking forward to, loony toons! i believe they hit stores in november as well.
