The Parent Trap: Special Edition
The Parent Trap: Special Edition
Any else looking forward to this? I've been waiting for this for ages since it's my favorite live-action Disney film, but I currently hate myself. All these years I've avoided the current DVD expecting a SE. Then when I was going DVD crazy at Best Buy at the day after Christmas, I decided to pick it up, thinking that if a SE hasn't already been released by now, it probably won't ever be. Now I find out that one's on the way.
Still, I only paid about 15 bucks for it, and considering how cheap the SE will be, it'll definitely be worth a double dip. Does anyone know what features the laserdisc had? I've heard about a commentary track and deleted scenes. Anything else?

In addition to commentary and a number of substantial deleted scenes, from what I've heard, there was also Lindsay Lohan's screen tests and visual effects stuff (a featurette of some type, perhaps). Maybe more, but its laserdisc release came when the laserdisc format was on the way out and information is sparse.
Knew you'd be looking forward to this one!

Same thing happened to me but I'm also fine with it.Disneykid wrote:All these years I've avoided the current DVD expecting a SE. Hi
I agree the origional was very cute, but the recent one even though I have the VHS, I don't think it was to cute and charming. But it is a sweet movie I will probablly end up buying it.Jack wrote:I bought the original DVD recently too.But it was $12.99 and came with a $5 off coupon for another DVD, so I guess I'm not too bummed. I'm a pretty big fan of this remake as well. It doesn't touch the brilliance of the original, but it manages to be charming in its own right.

We don't know yet. The bonus materials will probably only be enough to fill 1 disc. However, if they opt to release it like they did with The Princess Diaries: Special Edition - including a widescreen version of the film on one disc, and a pan-and-scan version on the second - then there might be a chance for a 2-Disc set.Tarzan. wrote:How many discs will the movie contain?

I also just bought it about a month ago to replace the copy lost in Hurricane Charley. Got it for $12.99 minus the $3 coupon in booklet (from Freaky Friday, I think). I'll be double dipping. I can use it with a couple other used dvd tradeins for a new dvd at Gamestop.

15 gallon 7 pint blood donor as of 1-4-11. Done donating. Apparently having Cancer makes you kind of ineligible to donate.
Just one disc. The $19.99 SRP and front page announcement where it says "disc" should clue you in to that.
I do hope that the deleted scenes make the DVD, even though they're not on the preliminary information from Disney. And the trailer too, though I doubt that will show up.
