Rebel Without a Cause

Post by Prince Phillip »

I just saw this movie, last night/early this mourning, on the TMC channel, and I was wondering if it had been released on DVD yet, and if so, what kind of release was it? Is there a rerelease, or first time release, planed anytime soon?

I'm assuming/hoping you meant TCM and not TMC, as the only way to see this movie (or any 2.35:1 film) is W I D E S C R E E N. :)

Of course, Warner's DVD is in that very format, and there's a 5.1 track. Since the DVD was released around 4 years ago, the extras won't blow you away. There's a 10-minute or so featurette, and some brief (~5 minutes each) interviews with Dean, Wood, and Jim Backus. And it's got a few trailers.
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president

 yeah, soory ur right, I meant TCM...

Well, the existing DVD sounds interesting, but as I am in no hurry to buy it right now, I might just wait around to see if a better version comes out...
