I think Make Mine Music might be getting a re-release UNCUT

Post by Wonderlicious »

Whilst browsing on Playusa.com, I noticed the page for Make Mine Music and saw it was being re-released on the 25th of this month. I scrolled down the page and saw that it lasted 75 minutes (the original running time) in the specs section. Then I looked at the synopsis and discovered that it included the Martins and the Coys section in it! I'm not 100% sure, but I have a funny feeling that Disney could have answered some of our prayers, as Make Mine Music could be getting a proper release with all segments in tact.

Very interesting. Couldn't be found on Disney's release calendar, though.

Amazon Canada has the same release yet Amazon USA does not. Interesting. Unfortunately, I will be in the USA on Jan 25 trying to warm up. We are currently under over a foot of snow which really does not happen here very often on the west coast.

It's weird that Disney has not advertised or even put a press release for this? Are they trying to release uncut material under the publics eye? maybe only collector's might know about it? :?

I hope an uncut version gets released. Amazon.com has the current dvd at 75 minutes too though, while the back of my Gold Collection dvd says it's 67 minutes... the review at amazon.com also mentions The Martins and the Coys, while it is not on the dvd, has that always been in the amazon review? Or are they without any press releases trying to get an uncut version on the market?

I want it uncut because this:

pisses me off :x :P

On Disney's homepage they originally listed 75 minutes with Martin and the Coys, but later changed it. The link from the top post mentions that it is a gold release, so I would be very surprised if anything was different. But you never know with Disney.

That would be awesome. It's funny because just 2 weeks ago I e-mailed Disney and voiced my disapproval of their editing content like this (inlcuding pan-and-scan), and they returned my e-mail saying they appreciated it and would forward the message to their marketing department. I'm only of one of hundreds that have complained, so maybe they are finally listening! Let's hope so.
