Registering Your Disney DVD

Post by Practical Pig »

Has anyone ever registered your Disney DVDs or any DVDs for that matter. What are the advantages and do you get a lot of junkmail because of it?

My original copy of Disc One of the "Tron" DVD had a defect that casused the entire picture to break into green splotches. When I called Disney, the operator said that store-sold "Tron" discs had a similar defect. So, she sent me a Disc One that was created for the Disney Movie Club.

And, not one piece of junk mail to show for it.

I've registered all my Disney DVD's. :D I believe if your disc is defective - they ask you to send it in and they will replace it. But, if your DVD's are stolen or lost (ect, ect). I believe you have to pay $10.00 to replace your DVD. Maybe someone out there who has actually replaced a lost DVD through this program can let us know for sure. :?

I have not receive any junk mail at all from registering. :)

i never knew this, i think i will register my DVD's tomorrow,

and if someone knows if they charge you for replacing damaged DVDs, please post. my aunt has spent alot of money buying Disney dvds twice because my 2 year old cousin always gets to them and scratches them or worst, looses them. she has a few OOP dvds and if they charge a small few or nothing at all, i can tell here to register her DVD's so that she can replace them.

if lost, how would they replace it, do they need proof? does anyone know?

i found the answer to my own question,

i went to www.disneydvd.com/support and they charge a $6.95 fee for replacing missing, stolen or scratched DVDs. but only wile supplies last. n if anyone is interested, call (800) 723-4763 for details Mon-Fri or go online and email Disney a question. to report a problem with your DVD, click here
