Favourite Disney Movies?

Post by maj »

May have been posted somewhere in the archives, but I've got a feeling I'd get lost if I delved too deep into there.

So what are your top3 disney films?

Mine are

1) Beauty and the Beast
2) Toy Story
3) Aladdin

In no particular order, my faves (for the moment) are:

- The Little Mermaid (will always be in the top 3)
- Lilo and Stitch (obviously)
- Aladdin

There are others, of course, but the ones above I can play anytime any place in any mood.
"Almost made it" movies include:
- Toy Story (1 & 2)
- Beauty and the Beast
- The Lion King (this could almost tie for Aladdin's position)
- Great Mouse Detective

Can I now nominate all 42 of them? :)

1. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Disney's most adult of their animated films.

2. Sleeping Beauty
The backgrounds and stylised characters make this film beautiful to look at.

3. Mickey's Christmas Carol
I like all versions of this Dickens classic, but I love Pete's version of "The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Be" in this.

if I'm allowed 2 more "almost"s:

4. A Goofy Movie
Lots of heart.

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Clever idea, and like Sleeping Beauty... just LOOK at it!

In no perticular order, these are my favorite of the animated classics (this would be my Platinum Collection - oh, I'm so selective now aren't I?) Everything else gets a very solid runner-up status in my eyes.

FAVORITE: Aladdin
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Beauty and the Beast
The Lion King
Bambi
The Jungle Book
The Little Mermaid
Lady and the Tramp
101 Dalmatians
Sleeping Beauty
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Lilo & Stitch
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Tarzan
Mulam
Pocahontas
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Fantasia 2000
Treasure Planet
The Black Cauldron
The Great Mouse Detective
Dumbo
Alice in Wonderland

The Pixars...are all amazing, but if I have to choose, Monsters Inc. is my favorite, followed very closely behind (in order) by Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, and Toy Story.

Of the Miyazaki titles they've released here that I've seen (Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service), Spirited Away is my favorite. I still need to see Castle in the Sky and Princess Monoke.

In the other animation csatagory, I *love* The Brave Little Toaster. Other notables are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Dinosaur, and James and the Giant Peach. I also like A Goofy Movie and Treasure of the Lost Lamp.

Of the direct-to-video stuff (and direct-to-video that got a theatrical release in disguise), my favorite is Simba's Pride. Aladdin and the King of Thieves, The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars (still need to see To The Rescue), An Extremely Goofy Movie and Pooh's Grand Adventure are runners up. Pretty much most of everything else is just useless dreck.

As far as new live-action goes, my favorites are as follows.

Tuck Everlasting
Angels in the Outfield
Remember the Titians
The Rookie
Mighty Joe Young
The Parent Trap (1998)
The Santa Clause
Ruby Bridges (Wonderful World of Disney)

As far as older live actions, I love pretty much everything I've seen, but my favorites are below.

Old Yeller
The Parent Trap (1961)
Pollyanna
Swiss Family Robinson
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Love Bug (what I've seen of it anyway; I've seen parts here and there on TV, still need to see the whole thing)
Johny Tremain
